This video was helpful! It appears I have some broken parts in my G7 X Mark III lens and can't find anywhere that has the lens itself for purchase. Have any recommendations on where I could find one?

Generally, you can find repair parts on ebay. Or you can purchase the same camera in non-working condition which has problems other than the lens, and use that as a donor.

Hello! Can the G7x iii lens be used to replace the G7x ii lens?

I don't know, I haven't tried it. Seems that the zoom and aperture are the same, but the big question is if they are the same on the inner side...

My G7x Mark 1 extends its lens when turned on and then shuts down with a lens error. Is it possible to troubleshoot what lens component would trigger the error? The camera main board expects a certain signal from the lens, which it isn't receiving and shuts down in response. Clearly, the zoom motor works. Also when I take the lens apart, is it possible to bench test the aperture & focusing motors on the bench by applying a few volts to them from my bench power supply? I already tested my zoom motor by disconnecting the lens from the mainboard and applying 2 volts to the motor. Works in both directions.

There is a small trigger / sensor which sees if the lens has collapsed... check that also.
