I once worked with a dog similar to Rex (purebread GSD, he was gorgeous!), the owners didn't train him, or give him proper walks, they were also shocked why he didn't act like their previous dogs (a yorkshire terrier and a chihuahua) I trained and worked with him for 3 weeks and then had to tell them I couldn't do it anymore, I basically became their dogs personal trainer, which I don't mind, but the owners didn't do their part, so non of the lessons I thought him worked or stuck. After I quit training him, he ended up rehomed after he almost bit a child...Owners who don't train their dogs get me just as riled up as owners who don't care for them..

Thank god he was rehomed. Hopefully he got a better owner that actually trained him, since German Shepherds are amazing dogs. My previous neighbors also had a German Shepherd that was barely trained (or neutered for that matter). His barking was out of control, and I often saw him sitting in a crate for most of the day through his usual window. He also got zero interaction with other dogs. Apparently they moved away because they wanted to breed him. Ugh. I wish I did something to get him rehomed.
