As I watch the video of this abandoned home, My heart breaks as to what happened to this family and why they left everything behind.
It goes to show that you never know how we will end up one day.
One day things are good and the next day we can fall on hard times and tragedies.
Wherever this family is or whatever happened...may God bless them.
Thanks Adam for caring about the families of these abandoned homes.
    God bless you all.🙏🏾

There is a very strong chance that the family could of been killed in some sort of accident because no one would just up and leave everything behind when it's all worth a lot of money and personal items as well.

The “Previewer” is for looking at slides.
The front glass magnifies the image and usually, they have a light or clear glass to allow light in behind the slide.

It's a shame about the china. I think the cups, etc., with the roses on, are Royal Albert - and that stuff is expensive, especially vintage pieces like those ! Too bad they can't be saved, but I understand the reasoning behind your policy of 'leaving as is'. Another great explore, Adam.

  • @tigerlillybell75
    @tigerlillybell75 ปีที่แล้ว +9

The teal-colored "Previewer" was used to view colored slides. Slides were more popular than photos in the 1970's. You used the Previewer to select the best from the slides made from special slide film, and then load the best into a slide canister that you mounted onto a projector. Slides were used in this way in all college and medical school classrooms up until the recently when digital photos replaced slides. A "slide show" was looking at all of the 50 slides on the canister.

Most times the valuables they take are not as valuable as what they leave. For example Mark walked past something that is of value but if you don’t know it you would miss it. It is looked upon as pretty but that’s it. You have to know to know it is of value.

While they have left a lot of stuff, which cost good money at the time, they tend to be worth not a lot today - it's old stuff and unless you're lucky enough to find a vintage item collector, then all stuff just goes to the tip. It would be interesting if somebody who has watched this and knew the family, and what happened to them, could produce a video to let us know as it seems like a house frozen in time with a tragic family history?

Ah, as a bartender of many years, I know that bottle @23:35 right away! That's Galliano! A sweet liquor from Italy that's just as popular today and still found on most bar shelves worldwide. It sells in the exact same tall, thin glass bottle and is still that bright distinctive, yellow color! Only the label has been updated - making this bottle vintage! It's used as a mixer - in a Harvey Wallbanger or on its own as an apertif. If you're lucky, you can find it sold in a gift box with a unique stand and apertif glasses. Those odd crystal (usually stemmed) glasses - with a wide base that only hold 3 or 4oz oz - great apertif glassware.

Beautiful property Adam, lots of lovely belongings. Respectful walk around once again. A question, if you are not an urban explorer, just a neighbour or what not, what would be the protocol for finding a property in this condition with open door etc. Should it be reported to the local authorities? Do you hunt down the family and let them know? Could you claim it? Do they leave the door open for a reason hoping some random will clear it out. Can one eradicate black mold or is the house doomed forever? Modern lightbulbs. I hope the fellow was not living in a moldy home and I hope the owner is at peace whereever he is now. Great vid! 👍

Thank you so very much for this wonderful video… I enjoy the way you break down an abandoned property … I can just about close my eyes and picture the home from your description
God bless you and prayers for your continued adventures

Hi Adam, I look forward to seeing your videos every Sunday, they make a boring day more bearable, I love the respect you show, pity more people can’t be like that. It was such a shame that the house has been left in such a state, I wonder if the husband died first and the wife couldn’t cope and maybe got moved into a nursing home? That said though, doesn’t explain where any children/grandchildren may be. I also love the music in the video,it gave it such an atmosphere vibe. All in all another banger! So thank you and see you next week, take care❤😊👍🏻xx

23:20 the pre viewer was a small hand held gadget to view slides ( transparencies) it saved getting the big old projector unit and white screen out . This way you could quickly view your holiday snaps

Adam, you never fail to come up with the goods! There was something especially haunting about this place. That shot of the ornaments still sat proudly on the living room table for some reason gave me shivers - as you say, as if the occupants had just stood up and walked out. Respectfully and brilliantly done as usual matey. You’re a legend. Can’t wait until next Sunday!!! ❤❤👍👍👍👌👌👌

Hi Adam , just watching now from Australia 🇦🇺. What a beautiful place. It always amazes me when I see the Christmas decorations etc, so many seem to be abandoned around that time of year . I follow some Canadian explorers as well and same thing over there . Thank you for sharing with us 😊.

The Christmas ornaments and tree got me. What happened to these people/this family? Do you ever hear from family members of the humans that occupied these homes?

It's quite sad to see the room and then see the pictures of the people sitting in that same room in happier times. What an amazing building and contents from history. 30:21 I think we have that picture in our bathroom.

It makes you wonder how lovely houses like this are left to become ruinous , surely there must be someone who could inherit and why don't the local authorities get involved , nice vid Mark

A previewer was a little lighted box that you could put your slides into and view them magnified and backlit. Everyone had one in the 70s!

Another amazing Video!!! I have always wondered how can all those Antiques still left behind when many times so many other things have been vandalized with no remorse for those who once made beautiful memories. Your right, it was odd to mix the very old with the more modern items which again I am amazed were untouched and not thieved. 8:16

I don't think much of it is "very old": these people seem to have liked "old-fashioned" looking trinkets, but I see very little in the way of genuine antiques.

That was fascinating Adam, and yet very very sad…some of that. China was Royal Albert-very expensive,as was the tea set below whose name I’m frustrated to say I can’t think of it’s name but my mother in law collected it £10 per cup twenty years ago! It’s really sacrilege! Having seen the old picture showing a thatched roof, two lots of stairs, some very low doorways, and drone footage of quite a number of outbuildings, makes me wonder if in fact THIS was originally an old pub Adam??? If the family were wealthy they could have snapped it up for a song and had it made into a home!?…..just an idea!

Loved this explore. I always want to see the dresses in the wardrobe Adam. Is that strange if you showed one or two fancy items? Plus we ladies like to see the brands of makeup. Perfumes etc. that was an 😊emptied out jewellery box on the side of the bath tub. What ass holes people are… well done for not showing graffiti tags. Think that was a good call x ty
