I made a pair of those jean slippers once as a white elephant gift! Instead of foam, I used some stuffing and sewed another piece of jeans to the bottom to make a little cushion.

K: This is called hotline bling.
Tip: spray your scissors with silicone spray to prevent the stickiness
Or you can just rub the blades? are the called blades on scissors? Anyway, you can just use a little bit of rubbing alcohol to get the sticky off.

Helpful hint - in case you ever need to try for real: yarn lamp shade requires liquid starch from the laundry aisle, not corn starch. And just skip the water or use very little.
