Global illumination is awesome. It’s the way to do lighting forward, imo. It looks so nice, and honestly the workflow for me, a code focused developer, is much nicer.
There is light baking and yes it uses DDGI. Light baking is always gonna be more performant so unless you need real time GI you can stick to light maps.
