A different idea would be to, instead essentially just giving yourself only three lives, make it a power-up nuzlocke. You can only equip every power up once in the whole run, if you lose it it’s gone. This probably wouldn’t include the mushroom and 1-up, but could include baby yoshis.

Lost Levels is literally 20 times harder. For Luigi U: Jump, and you won't slide. That's all there is to it. The levels are short and Luigi's OP jumps make platforming trivial. I've watched a couple of your videos and while your determination and ability to waste time is unbridled you are fundamentally mediocre at Mario games. You need to go slower and actually plan your jumps instead of making so many YOLO leaps of faith. You could save yourself a lot of suffering, although I wonder if that's the point.
i also have a harder challenge that im starting. the criterias are: beat both mario u AND luigi u without dying once, each world must have at least one level with all star coins collected, i have to complete all levels [includiong superstar road] and i must ALWAYS be small mario [or luigi]. oh and i forgot to mention, no toadette or nabbit is allowed.

When you said that you were going to do a Mario nuzlocke, I got really excited, but was kinda disappointed when I realised that the challenge essentially boiled down to "can I beat the game with only three lives?" As all the characters play pretty much exactly the same way, the whole concept of switching characters every time you die is really just a cosmetic thing. So, I think it'd be more interesting if the nuzlocke revolved around power-ups. Get a fire flower, lose it - you can't use another fire flower for the rest of the run. It's interesting because you'd have to strategise about when it would be best to get a power-up, and you'd have to be extra careful about not losing it. Just an idea!
