Don't have a classic, but I've been running Castrol GT for as long as I can remember. I had an exception for a year with my wife's Toyota van. It asked for synthetic, so whatever was on sale. As far as filters, usually purolator, or it's equivalent in a different box. The only exception is my Azera uses a cartridge and believe it or not Fram makes the best. So many use felt seals on the end instead of rubber.
I like the Motorcraft oil filter on the falcons oil is whatever you want they say not to change brands once you've been using it for while. Don't know why.
I have a 1976 Triumph Spitfire. It has a 65 hp, solid and flat lifter 4 cylinder. I rebuilt the engine about 8000 miles ago, and I've been running Rotella T4 15w40, including the break-in period.
Most oil manufacturers familiar with this make and model recommend either a full or semi-synthetic oil with a viscosity of 5W30 or 10W30.which I use in my 68 Mustang GT 289 engine.
That's Great oil filter and that's also great engine oil too you should look into a swapping out transmission from C4 to a AOD 4 speed automatic Ford transmission
Good to see you using the Driven Oil. Thats all we'll use in our classics until something better comes along. One question though, do you fill the oil filter with oil before you install it. I saw you put a film of new oil on the gasket. We were taught to do that if possible, some filters are mounted upside down and I've never been fast enough to flip a full filter upside down and screw it on before all that new oil pours out on the ground. LOL!!! Can't hurt to build that oil pressure as soon as possible. By the way thanks for the message about the guy you bought your steering wheel from. Ill message you soon, Thanks Again.❤😊
I've been running Havoline 5-30 in my roller cam 92 Chevy 350. Also use the same oil with same type Chevy retrofitted to a flat-tappet cam and add a zinc additive. Change my oil every 3k. Never had a problem.
Continued Success. Look into Amsoil. It's more expensive. It's the only true synthetic and best on the market. They make oils for all parts of the car. Additives... are a 50/50 shot. Some can... and most do...slowly plug the oil channels inside the crank, rockers and even the drains back into the pan. But... on a lighter issue... Drain some oil thru a coffee filter. It will show any and all micro bits of metal (Brass is the one you DONT want to see) the engine may be shedding. About a pint, 16oz will be enough. I wish they made digital clusters for my 62 Merc Comet.
I’m assuming this car still has flat tapped lifters that’s why they’re using an oil with zinc added. Zinc specifically helps reduce the metal to metal wear with flat tappets.
Nice!! That is the RTX Falcon dash from Dakota Digital. It's one of my favorite things I bought for Carl (not cheap but definitely worth it). You can find it on their site here: www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=1272/mode=prod/prd1272.htm And we did a video of the install here: th-cam.com/video/_v77nquRlBU/w-d-xo.html Good luck with your Falcon!!!
Ellie, another 6000 miles! Great to see you really driving Carl, big thumbs up!

That's a really good product. Glad to see new content, keep it coming.

Oil level should have been a bit high until you start it and fill the oil filter.
Pennzoil Platinum high mileage 0W20
Valvoline VR1 10W-30, 69 Ranchero w/ a 289.
Penrite HPR30 in my old cars
Pretty cool channel! I just dropped off an Uber order here lol
The OE oil would of been straight 30W but now that oil is multi grade should be using 10W30. I use Castrol GTX 10W30 in my 1968 Ford Mustang 289
use heavier weight oil your bearings will thank you
Why did I think you were going to do the Sponge Bob "at night" bit through the whole thing. lmao

My 68 mustang 200 inline 6 i could do the oil change from the top and not have to crawl under the car. Wish i didnt sell it.

I didn't see you grease anything. It's called a Lube oil and filter.
Hi
I do mine every 3k but im old school lol
Yeah, 6000 miles b/wn oil changes with conventional oil is way too much.
This is good info to hear. We've done the 6000 we got from the shop manual, but maybe we should be doing it every 3000.
@@ElliesGarage yeah, 6000 mile intervals is synthetic oil territory.
I use full synthetic and 5K. I am lazy and even 5Ks are easier to remember. One glance and I know how many miles to go.
