  • In this video we review the parts used to do small upgrade on the durability of the steering system of my 2005 Chevy Silverado. We decided to use MOOG Problem Solver outer tie rod ends, AC Delco Professional inner tie rod ends and finish it off with Readylift tie rod sleeves.

If you're looking for a beefier tie rod check out kryptonite parts, they are certainly bigger but so is the price tag. That is the only option I have found to increase size from factory

Thanks! I'll check them out. Not sure if it's worth it on a truck that's primarily street driven.

What's up AJ! Nice setup sleeves. Do you feel a difference when turning the wheel? This design should be fitted for all trucks from factory. But of course they want your parts to ware out. Can't go wrong with Moog either.

Steering felt the same since I didnt really have any slop with the old parts. I just have a little more confidence in terms of durability.

Anthony I also have a 2003 Silverado 2wd lifted 5 inches with 14 wides what do you suggest for stronger tie rods? Or does sleeve fo the job?

I think getting the Readylift Sleeves with MOOG or AC Delco is the reasonable way to go. If you find heavy duty aftermarket it's going to be a lot of money. Just grease them regularly

Since the tie rod sleeve replaces the jam nut I think you can just back off on the tie rod sleeve and use large pliers to turn the inner tie rods. I know that rust can sometimes form inside the sleeve and weld them together. Maybe sealing the ends with silicone or anti seize. I used the stainless steel bolt together sleeves on my 06 Yukon. The tie rods on my 18 Sierra are a little larger than the 06. I need some sleeves for that one also. Great video!

As long as you can turn them, you could adjust them with the sleeves on. All depends on the condition of the tie rods and the tools you have on hand.

See if @Readylift makes something for your new truck. They've expanded their product range and the quality has always been impressive.
