Thanks for dropping by, and helping us keep the magic of Skyrim alive! Check out the links in the description to join our discord server + get some sweet swag! One quick correction: he uses the Thief Backpack, but for some of the footage he’s wearing the adventurer backpack. Both look cool, we just like the buffs that the Thief Backpack give!
One way to make it possibly more interesting for us to anticipate the arrival of your next build, could you guys try to make a riddle about what the build will be? It would be best to stop at the type of build and not to try to have the name of the character as the answer, it may take hundreds of guesses.
@Skypothesis then perhaps have the riddle of what the character will be wearing? The armour styles that you guys make can say a lot about a character, but not entirely reveal the type of build you made
hi i'd just like to sat this build is amazing, i've just started using the dwemer scout goggles mod from nexus since its dwarven and for me it's a game changer because my build doesn't use magic at all pure archer. thanks again for this amazing build
Added role-playing suggestion: you can turn any Hearthfire home into a Dwemer museum by building an armory, trophy room, and enchanting tower. Fill the armory with Dwemer weapons and armor and fill the trophy room with reconstructed Dwemer automata
A build I would love to see you guys do is basically just like the Tonal Scholar but instead of Dwemer ruins he’s obsessed with it’s the Nordic crypts and tombs. Unlike the scholar he will use magic mainly conjuration to raise the dead in the tombs for him to study and help him fight as well as for the bound bow. Call him the Tomb Lord or Crypt Stalker.
Between the Fudgemuppet boys revamping their old builds and you two putting out the unparalleled best character creation content ever offered for this game, Skyrim’s never been in a better place.
As someone who didn’t stick with the Thieves Guild much, while trying this build I noticed for the first time that revealing yourself as a Thief to any others you encounter on the road will result in them wishing you luck and sending you on your way. From a Roleplaying standpoint, another reason The Tonal Scholar could have joined the Thieves Guild would be to protect his Dwarven Valuables while traveling the dangerous roads of Skyrim
Never thought in a million years that the Redguard Remnants and a Dwemer Scholar would go together! All the more proof of how creative your backstories are!
You could also get hopesfire, trueflame, volendrung and spellbreaker for your museum collection since they’re all Dwemer made as well and could be considered curious oddities due to volendrung landing in hammerfell hence the name of the province the fact it’s an orcish artifact is also interesting. Hopefire and trueflame are both gifts directly made by kagrenac for indoril and almalexia and their design not being traditionally dwarven is also interesting. And the spellbreaker is both a daedric artifact and a Dwemer creation but doesn’t have traditional Dwemer design. It could be a research project to figure out how and why daedric princes have Dwemer creations
I am absolutely crazy about all things Dwarven! The way you mixed the remanent together looked like it was meant to be! I am totally jumping on this one after I complete my Dawn Knight build game. Thanks again for another spectacular build!
Such inspiration! If anyone wants to add some magic to this build without changing its play style or backstory, try adding Alteration: Tonal Architecture is all about ‘reworking reality’, so it would make sense for someone studying it to explore Alteration magic, as the two arts possess similarities and overlap. Some scholarly works may cite Tonal Architecture and Alteration as being one-and-the-same (though the Tonal Scholar’s studies would likely debunk this), so it could make sense for him to become adept with it as a result of his studies. It also provides a lot of stealth based utility that won’t change the play style: detect life, paralysis, and telekinesis in particular fold nicely into the whole ‘time/space manipulation ’ aspect of the build (alongside the Telekinesis Arrows and Slow Time stuff), whilst also giving extra utility for thieving, and defence for when stealth isn’t an option. Extra points for those with mods that allow Telekinesis to target foes as well!
Skyrm has been a part of my life since the release, im now 29 and when i see these kind of videos from you guys it makes me feel like im watching a series or a movie about it, very nice keep it up the amazing job!
Holy moly, another Skypothesis build! Oh, happy day! I love them all! Great vid, keep up the great work! I will always want more of these! Ya'll are the best story & build peeps for Skyrim, PERIOD! ;)
He joins the Thieves Guild because he likes to Delvin to ancient civilizations. 😏 Witty comment covered, I'm definitely going to this build for a Dwemer focus. I especially like the Atronach Forge use and the expeditions tying different quests together. On the mod side, I think this guy could team up with Lucien as a fellow scholar, and this would lead to another expedition.
I used to hate Dwemer stuff, but this and Fudgemuppet's Clockwork Apostle changed my heart on the matter. I truly underestimated how cool Dwemer stuff is.
As always, I loved the lore and backstory. I like the Dwemer scholar approach to this character and his particular interest in metallurgy. I love that his involvement with the College is as a scholar rather than as a mage and that his primary use of the College is for the Atronach Forge rather than for spell-learning. I like the opportunity for character development as he travels and expands his interest from being focused on just Dwemer history to becoming interested in the history of the land and how he realizes it’s related. As with the Stylite Storm, I like your unique approach to him becoming Arch-Mage - not necessarily a mage, but in his case a keeper of magical artifacts. Just as you had a separate Bestiary section in The Witchkiller video, I love how you have a separate Expedition section for The Tonal Scholar.
I'm happy to see that i had reasons to be as excited as i was for this build ! He's such a unique and well written dwemer scholar who fully thrive on the contents added with the anniversary edition ! I'm really surprised to see another character using Lockpicking. I thought The Sapphire Smuggler was going to be your only Lockpicking build but it make perfect sens for him as he probably need a lot of money to craft his arrows, improve his gear and finance his researchs and expeditions. It's so brillant to go to the College of Winterhold as a scholar and not a mage and i really like the fact that this build force you to return regularly to the overlooked and underated atronach forge. This build really shine just by his gameplay and aesthetic. I'm really happy for the way this build turned out. I'm still kinda sad than The Deadeye Phantom won't get the love he deserve but it's a true blessing to have you being abble to fully explore the anniversary edition and bring amazing characters like this guy to life
ive probably said this on other builds, but - this is my favorite build/ backstory of all time. I'm obsessed with the dwemer, and always love seeing new takes on the "dwemer scholar/ dungeon crawler" style builds. this is concise, tight, makes lore sense, and just enough ambiguity to suspend disbelief. it owns. ❤️
I'm doing this build now and using illusion magic for silent casting and destruction magic for runes, I'm playing him more as a night blade than a pure ranger and am using the ring of masser instead of the ring of surroundings, it's a powerful build and I love the role play, I used to have a build very similar to this years ago to get over my dislike of going through Dwarven ruins, this updated AE edition will be a permanent fixture in my character build library now and will not be considered complete until I have every single Dwemer artifact in the game, you guys are the greatest Skyrim character build channel there is, hands down, the best!!
Yet another fantastic build! I love characters in fantasy settings who are scholars without being mages and you guys do them really well. The stereotype of magic being the most/only book smart fighting style in fantasy is so pervasive and I like subverting that. Although alchemy is mechanically considered a thief skill, I've still always wondered why the college of winterhold doesn't have an alchemy professor when they have so many alchemy labs everywhere. Inspiration for the next character build, perhaps? I think destruction potions should be able to improve the damage of some shouts...
Reminds me of my favorite Dwemer build from the old Skyrim Blog/Tamriel Vault days: *The Aetherial Mystic* Still play my own version of it from time to time. Can't wait to give this one ago... months from now, when I get through my backlog of (your) builds. Cheers +1 for Redguards 😉
Goddamn man! Best build in the channel by far. Amazing and well written backstory, great presentation and incredible choice of roleplay. I have a inherent love for dwemer builds and lore. Keep up the good work!
You can use nchuanthumz house which is a dwemer house from the creation club which you can get by reading a journal in the inn at winterhold I believe that this guy would definitely stay there as his home and he is a scholar of a sort so he would definitely would stay there
This is my favorite build so far. I play with a small amount of mods on Xbox, some patches, changes to some quests so I'm not forced to be a bad guy, and Lucian. I had forgotten about Lucian's personal quest involving a Dwemer Ruin so when I interacted with him for this playthrough, I was happily surprised that I had recruited a fellow scholar. I am open, and have plenty space available, for any dwemer ruin quest mods. I believe Star and Moon might be one and will check it out as soon as I get back to playing.
Im calling it the archaeologist, adding werewolf, sort of dr jekyll mr hide type aspect with minor additions such as a possible bit of illusion, same spirit and aesthetic, brilliant build here possibly the best ive seen, could also go khajiit but i like the redguard stam regen
After buying Skyrim on my computer I didn’t want to rebuy the creation club content again, but after seeing this video, you made me buy it again. Nice build video guys. Keep ‘em up
Posted a comment 5months ago.. still playing this build! My all time favorite! After i did all the rp quests and stuff i didnt want to stop. So i roleplayed that when he helped the temple of mara to help the “lovers” and get the 15% magic resist, he was so moved by the reactions of the ppl (and ghosts) he helped. He decided to help as much ppl as he can and so becoming the ppl’s hero in Skyrim. So still playing with the tonal scolar and still rocking with his awesome armor combo with the backpack and zephyr! And patiently waiting for a new awesome build you guys will create in the future!!!
I threw some illusion magic into this build and it’s so much fun! Since the helmet has a reduction I also got the ring of Masser which boosts illusion, sneak and stamina. Perfect for the build. Fenrik’s welcome makes all the dwarven chests and locks a breeze and allows me to save lock picks for master chests. Also frenzy and pacify are great defenses in a pinch!
I admire and respect every video involving the Dwemer. I don’t want to think about how often I would have bitten my tongue trying trying to pronounce the location names. (Even through my native language is an Austrian German dialect that doesn’t use many vowels to begin with)
Do you mind if I share this to my group page? There are a lot of new adventurerers that have discovered Skyrim especially this year, the question that I get most is,"what would be a really cool and interesting build for my character"... And I've been recommending a Dwemer build and there is also a mod that adds the Dwemer race to the game, so players can actually role play as a Dwemer.. there's also a mod that adds 2 different models of equippable and enchantable Dwemer goggles to the game.. and I didn't quite have an example of what a good build would look like.. I'd make sure credit goes where it is due because this is your video, the group is called Skyrim for players, and the other group that I am a part of is Skyrim addicts. If you're okay with it then, awesome.
I love the idea of a stealth Archer that can fall back on unarmed if disarmed. Its soo cool. Im so indecisive i just keep making new characters to try out all of these builds
The drip is popping off, my personal favourite part of these vids is seeing how creative you guys can get with a characters outfit and how you really tell the story of the build through it
This is a good take on a artificer build. Usually builds like this heavily depend on mods to function but y’all were creative enough to make it work in vanilla
This one is by far my favorite build and rp!!!! Previous playthroughs i never bothered with dwemer stuff. Never took interest in dwemer ruin’s. But because science and physics is one thing i love in real life. And when you guys told in this build about the Dwemer alloys that are closer to the mountain, and there for affected by time, I immediately thought of the theory of relativity! So went to make and play this build with the rp because of that. And it is seriously amazing!!!! And this character has by far the best looks with the armor/gear!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This is awesome! I love the scholar aspect! I prefer to play as a female as I do enjoy a strong female lead. I've been looking for a good reason to use the Arcane Archer pack. I've always wanted to delve into the lore behind the Dwemer and now i can along with an awesome arsenal and an amazing Backstory! I'll admit, I'm sad I hadn't come across your channel sooner.
Another great build! I'm really excited to see what else you guys come up with using the full AE content. So far it seems to be providing quite the spark :)
You guys are so fuckin creative! Another amazing build that I cannot WAIT to try! I loved playing as the Relic Hunter (I named her Ruby in my playthrough), and it was awesome to see hints of her character in this build. Thanks so much for sharing!
Honestly it’s upsetting that you guys don’t have more subscribes this builds and how you lay them out are just Incredible! It gives something nice to play Skyrim in its vanilla version again for me! And I just got Skyrim on PC so I’m ready to grind out the achievements like I did in Xbox with this build! Great content you guys have!
I love you guys so much. I have 10k hours into Skyrim and you already know I’m kind of an elitist when it comes to my difficulty (hopefully you remember me bugging you guys about my legendary version of the stylite mage 😊😊) and this fits perfectly while being a unique and awesome looking build. I’m so hype to play this build on survival mode without changing almost anything
Incredible build! Just a thought - since thu’um is a variation of tonal magic, you can do Words of Power quests from Greybeards to gather shouts. Also, if one wants to go zero magic, there is a copy of Aetherium Wars in the Bards College Library and one of its teachers is in fact a teacher of history. In order not to miss out on Dwemer ruins in the college quest line and on Atronach forge, you can either enter via speech check (teacher of history should be able to articulate his mind well after all) or while on Elder Knowledge quest.
Awesome build! I love the dwemer and making a build based on a scholar who wants to learn more about them is amazing. Just one question: what does the "tonal" in tonal scholar mean? My first thought was that he discovered that the dwemer language is a tonal language, LoL 😂
This is 🤯. As always guys you’re truly creative Wyeth it comes to these builds. The aesthetic alone would be enough, but you go above and beyond with the backstory, perks, etc. Great work. *chef kiss*
If going to higher levels, upping alchemy next could be a decent idea, both because of roleplay flavor (chemistry used to improve the machinery for example) and how blalantly strong it can get, and also because slow time is affected by alteration potions (and the stability perk), which means you can get a "Tonal Barrage +", or as i would call it, "Overloaded Barrage" due to it being thanks to a temporary buff you have to make (and if you Dont take purity, which i wouldnt Just because flavor, its very likely you end up with a bad side effect on the potion). Which isnt much but i am a fan of special moves that are a combination of special moves, or improved/overdrive versions of Some of the Basic ones.
Maaan, i simply loved this one. I aways wanted to make a dwemer themed build, but never find a suitable and fun playstile. You guys are absolute legends, keep up the amazing work!
Thanks for this video. I have been contemplating using the tonal architect mod and I had been thinking about what his story would be. I have been thinking along similar lines to your build and your ideas have fleshed out what I have been thinking. In mine the character is to be a Nord who wanted to be a mage but plans to use the Dwemer technology in place of magic. This way he can be a spellsword without the need to learn spells and it fits in with the Nord aversion to magic.
What would you expand on to get to level 50? Alteration for the Transmute for metalurgy? Light Armour for the additional modifications to the fit of his armour? Enchanting to research how Dwemer constructs seem to be powered by soul gems?
This is almost uncanny, I built an almost identical build like this a few days ago. Definitely going to use this build video to help shape the character I started. The only difference is that my character is a dunmer brawler and mage
Best home would probably be the dwarven home added with the creation club....it larger and it built into a dwarven ruin it's near multiple other dwarven ruins too near riften for the thieves guild
Watching your video on this guy I actually saw a potential extra special ability for his list Stabilized Longshot, combining the speed of zephyr and his dwarven bladed gauntlets with his archery skill (eagle eyed) he can make even longer shots than an average archer due to the blade on his gauntlet providing additional stability to the shot
Funny how about a week ago I came up with a similar cosmetic combo, except I use the remnant gloves and went a different way, non dwemer related, more close to the sunfire herald (using the new staff arm of the sun). Definitely will be doing this build but changing backstory a bit as I been trying to fit a orc into the whole dwemer ruins exploration.
I love this build. I recently(ish) got Anniversary addition so I think I'm gonna try this build out. Or a variant of it at least. (I'm hopelessly in love with the khajiit :P) I see myself using The Voice because it at least appears to be a form of tonal magic. I can't wait to get started when I get a chance.
I know you guy are more than likely tired of hearing or rather reading from me but I found a Dwarven themed player home located in a cave system right beside the Dwarven ruin that sends you down the giant pitfall once I completed the initial questline to get it back into shape I could see him living in his own personal Dwarven ruin the rest of his life
This is such an awesome build! I’m always impressed with the armor combos you guys put together, but this character’s aesthetic is absolutely fantastic! This might my new favorite build! I also really like that you made a Dwemer themed build that is so different from Fudgemuppet’s Clockwork Apostle.
Been playing this guy since it came out and I must say this build is absolutely 100% broken for all the right reasons the work is definitely worth finding all the materials to make the salts and arrows plus as with the white skull warlock I had him join the Imperials because he needs money in order to fund his research and expeditions and they are paying
Oh boy another archer build makes me so happy, I feel the anniversary edition really gave archery a decent bit of variety especially with the elemental arrows/bolts, it used to feel like archery was limited to either being a secondary skill or a an easier stealth build, seeing lightning arrows fly through the air, setting up telekinesis arrows in a hallway to retreat to when getting overwhelmed is always satisfying. It just sucks that crafting them is way more expensive and harder than just buying them from merchants though... I feel like the Tonal Scholar would have a great time together with Urag and the Witchkiller, seeing as they're both scholars/bookkeepers and possibly a more dramatic engagement with the Reaver, kinda like the Imperial Spectre Vs Rebel. 😁 I'm not sure if it would fit with the aesthetic but I'd imagine the Visage of Mzund helmet would go well with the Dwemer theme and help with close quarter combat. Loving your builds so far and binge watching them 🥳
I don't know why, but I'm just fascinated with this build and it seems like a perfect build for me to try. Time to save it to favourites and go binge watch all your Skyrim build vids
You guys make the best builds! If I may suggest a Vanilla version of the armor combo for those who don't have Creation Club: *Thieves Guild Hood/Torturer's Hood *Dwarven Armor *Dwarven Gauntlets *Thieves Guild Boots

And I have been thinking about a tonal architect for my next character build. So double scary.
Same...Except 3 days for me. Started in Solstheim as a Morrowind-esq Dwemer.

This is definitely in my top 3 builds of all time! I have been dying to see telekinesis arrows utilized they have such a cool thematic use :)
I love the idea of a stealth Archer that can fall back on unarmed if disarmed. Its soo cool. Im so indecisive i just keep making new characters to try out all of these builds
The drip is popping off, my personal favourite part of these vids is seeing how creative you guys can get with a characters outfit and how you really tell the story of the build through it
Glad you dig the drip!!
This is a good take on a artificer build. Usually builds like this heavily depend on mods to function but y’all were creative enough to make it work in vanilla
Legitimately one of the coolest builds I've ever seen. Definitely playing this build
Can we petition to rename Friday to ‘skyday’? You guys are killing it with these builds
It's a theme I'm very fond of explored in an inventive and exciting way. What's not to love?
Another Skypothesis instant classic!
Relic Hunter is one of our all time faves!
Your work is so inspiring guys, thank you for putting all this time and effort into these builds. I'm having a blast playing with your creations!
That means a lot, thanks so much!!❤️🫡
I come for the awesome looking outfits in the thumbnails, I stay for the fantastic story telling and build crafting ☺️ excellent as always
Thank you!
I watched all your builds and you're a pain in the A. How can i choose one? They're all good lol
I could even repurpose my old Dwemer archer for this build 🫡🫡
I loved the oblivion sentinel build and I'll adore playing this one too
Huh, first time I’m this early… what a wonderful delight
Incredible build! Just a thought - since thu’um is a variation of tonal magic, you can do Words of Power quests from Greybeards to gather shouts. Also, if one wants to go zero magic, there is a copy of Aetherium Wars in the Bards College Library and one of its teachers is in fact a teacher of history. In order not to miss out on Dwemer ruins in the college quest line and on Atronach forge, you can either enter via speech check (teacher of history should be able to articulate his mind well after all) or while on Elder Knowledge quest.
They thought he was a just another conspiracy theorist, boy were they wrong!
Awesome build! I love the dwemer and making a build based on a scholar who wants to learn more about them is amazing.
Just one question: what does the "tonal" in tonal scholar mean? My first thought was that he discovered that the dwemer language is a tonal language, LoL 😂
He is a scholar of the Tonal Architects :)
@@Skypothesis I didn't know what tonal architecture was before doing a quick search. Thank you for enlightening me 😊
20:25 this is actually a Jojo reference
I don't have access to the Anniversary edition yet, but this video has given me the inspiration for a similar build using the vanilla resources.
I've been hoping for a telekinesis arrow build since your first Anniversary Edition build! So cool!
I cant lie this gotta be my new favourite build
This is 🤯. As always guys you’re truly creative Wyeth it comes to these builds. The aesthetic alone would be enough, but you go above and beyond with the backstory, perks, etc.
Great work. *chef kiss*
With the creation club artifacts a Sherogorath devotee would be an excellent build
Skypothesis Builds>All others
Agreed, a Sheogorath build would be great!
This channel is a blessing now, imagine when ES6 comes out. Can’t wait!
god i miss these builds, i hope to see one with the daedric horse in the future
This is what i have been looking for. I love the Dwemer Lore and always wanted a build that is as obsessed with the Dwemer as i am. Thanks Skypo.
Two questions!
1.) What are some instances that he would use unarmed?
2.) Do you recommend playing this build in Adept?
1) we used unarmed against low level bandits, wolves, etc to avoid wasting arrows
2) yep! All of our builds are balanced for the standard adept
I love that angle for a Nord! I've considered something similar, but not for a Dwemer focus.
Great RP Build. I've been inspired to make a sort of scholarly relic hunter type of character.
I'm here for the special moves and for the fashion!
damn it, you guys are really making start another skyrim playthorugh. i swore i was done with this game but he were are lol amazing work as always!
This is definitely my favorite story and build! I am obsessed with this channel lol
Best home would probably be the dwarven home added with the creation club....it larger and it built into a dwarven ruin it's near multiple other dwarven ruins too near riften for the thieves guild
Watching your video on this guy I actually saw a potential extra special ability for his list
Stabilized Longshot, combining the speed of zephyr and his dwarven bladed gauntlets with his archery skill (eagle eyed) he can make even longer shots than an average archer due to the blade on his gauntlet providing additional stability to the shot
Always good to see you guys making new builds thank you 🙏
It's amazing how you guys haven't made a bad build
GASPSPPSS I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR A DWEMER BUILD FROM YOU ALL!!!! AZURA BLESS YOU!!!
So if u have the ordinator mod installed in the smithing skilltree theres the dwarven autocanon i think it sides well with the whole build
I love this build. I recently(ish) got Anniversary addition so I think I'm gonna try this build out. Or a variant of it at least. (I'm hopelessly in love with the khajiit :P) I see myself using The Voice because it at least appears to be a form of tonal magic. I can't wait to get started when I get a chance.
aww khajiits are so kewl
@@Muwufox I know right?! I'm also a cat person. XD
Fantastic! 🎉 I was waiting for a Dwemer themed build and you did not disappoint!!! Great build and inspiration, thank you so much ☺️
Oh boy another archer build makes me so happy, I feel the anniversary edition really gave archery a decent bit of variety especially with the elemental arrows/bolts, it used to feel like archery was limited to either being a secondary skill or a an easier stealth build, seeing lightning arrows fly through the air, setting up telekinesis arrows in a hallway to retreat to when getting overwhelmed is always satisfying.
I'm not sure if it would fit with the aesthetic but I'd imagine the Visage of Mzund helmet would go well with the Dwemer theme and help with close quarter combat.
Loving your builds so far and binge watching them 🥳
I would love to see your take on illusion archery and conjuration, my favourite way to play.
I don't know why, but I'm just fascinated with this build and it seems like a perfect build for me to try. Time to save it to favourites and go binge watch all your Skyrim build vids
I must ask, why the assassins blade perk? It doesn't seem to fit the overall build. Am I missing something? Regardless, it's a really cool build!
You guys make the best builds! If I may suggest a Vanilla version of the armor combo for those who don't have Creation Club:
*Thieves Guild Hood/Torturer's Hood
*Dwarven Armor
*Dwarven Gauntlets
*Thieves Guild Boots
WOW! Another great build! Can you also please make a build about a lich
babe wake up new skypothesis build
This... this is the best build I've seen on this channel
great job guys
Having tons of fun with this build. Great aesthetics and gameplay.
