First time using a controller while first time playing a souls game is actually insane lmao it’s honestly incredible how well you’re doing compared to others who’ve used a controller all their life 😂
A little tip that may help: Many questlines progress by reloading the area after you exhausted the dialogue of NPCs that are part of the quest. Also calling the turtles dogs is a Borat meme.
Best tip I can give you is explore EVERYWHERE. So many cool things hidden in places you would never expect. You can even discover fake walls and stuff :D
@@gmee123 that's a great tip! I need to go back where I started and look around again. I was basically just running from everything that was trying to kill me
You may figure this out by the end of the second video (or maybe this one as I haven't quite finished it yet) but I found it easier to put my potions and my spectral steed whistle in my pouch and use it from there instead of putting them in the quick items. It requires you to push and hold an extra button and then press the button on the d pad to use which item you wanted but it worked better for me.
@@karljuliuz I started doing it on my first play through and this was also my first souls game. I didn't do it at the very beginning and didn't say she needed to do it now, just something to keep in mind once she gets more used to the controls. I started with the flasks on the items bar at the bottom too.
First thing I did was turn off all those stupid ass messages. I thought they were actual in game tips, but nope. I found it so incredibly annoying and took away from my experience of the game, so off they went.
@@Vitamin_Ems Do not turn them off! I repeat do not!! The messages is part of the Souls and Elden Ring experience! It makes the game so much more fun. This person does not know what he's talking about.
A lot of the messages are just funny or trolling, but some are actually helpful. It can be hard to determine one from the other though. One tip I will give is where the grace guides you to go is just the main story lines. You should do a lot of exploring other areas as well.
elden ring is probably one of the best games ever, i hope you have so much fun playing it!!!
That's why I was so excited to try it and am so glad I'm LOVING it!

its really fun seeing someone figure out the game. also your commentary is very funny.
thank you so much! It's been fun learning about the game and exploring not knowing anything!

If youre offline there are no messages. Hope someone told you that.
I would say if you're not familiar with controllers and used to kbm, tweaking some keybinds, kbm would be so much better
Clear the encampment out first

I agree! As soon as I figure out how to do that, I will!
I love the messages, they are the soul of souls games, you just need to be wary of trolling and be smart about them
