This song is getting recognition these days cause it's more common and normal for girls to do concepts similar to this. Looking back at what was popular when this was released shows that 4Minute was ahead of their time and definitely influenced the insurgence of darker concepts in girl groups late 3rd gen and 4th gen. Everyone still appreciates a good cute/happy/girlfriend concept, but I think the public has really grown to appreciate a good cool/dark/badass concept in girl groups as well.

I honestly literally still can't believe the fact that they disbanded. Maybe especially because I am currently living in Korea right now, but I really learned that Korea doesn't really like concepts like this. To prove this again, when CLC released "Hobgoblin", a lot of people said that they should have just kept their original concept (cute, happy, etc.). +Doug guoD Asian music industry is a lot more competitive and tougher,being a different culture and lifestyle and all. every block you'll see a promotion of some idol. when 4Minute's "crazy" came out they had a lot of promotions, hell a lot of coffee shops had their image on normal coffee cups. Also having a member like Hyuna that's had a history in the music industry (being an original member of Wonder Girls in JYP ent.) they're actually really popular than most international fans see. Maybe not as popular as other big acts like SNSD or 2NE1 but they're up there.

You have to expect this. There is the 7 year curse for a reason. The industry in Korea drops off hard once they hit their late 20 early 30s. There isn't enough international support to keep them once the Korean Market gives up. At best you'll get a GG incident were the members bail one at a time. Usually it ends with the initial contract, if they even last that long. The only girl group from 2005 to 2009 formation that still has all members an be looks to be around a while is BEG. They are letting Ga Ins pot controversy die down but they are still around. This is the industry. Tl:DR Don't get attached, the industry is set to seem end these. Period.

It was Jiyoon and HyunA who really stood out in both the "Crazy" and "Hate" tracks. For first time, I'm not only seeing Hyuna because Jiyoon fit very well in these concepts. Sad to see the band go though, I'll miss Jiyoon, but I'm glad to see HyunA still out there. She'll be competing with the new generation of girl group idols who are younger and fresher, so I hope Cube will take care of HyunA more now than ever so we could see more sides of her.

Because they are from the second generation and have been in the industry for so long. Roughly speaking, it's their time. Even the current generation will eventually meet its time to pass the baton to the next generation. Don't worry about it. Most groups that disband still continue their life and working on something else. You'll be proud of them when you find out they aren't stuck in one place and explore a lot of things.

i still remember when this came out. people on twitter freaking out, everyone was just shocked by the drop, it was just the best. i stayed up all night streaming their songs, and my mom yelled at me for staying up, i was punished but at the end i didn't care. i miss 4minute so much. cube just ruined everything. i would give anything to go back in time and live those days again.
Perhaps the most criminally underrated KPOP song ever. EVER. That drop alone deserves its own global ranking.

+Doug guoD Asian music industry is a lot more competitive and tougher,being a different culture and lifestyle and all. every block you'll see a promotion of some idol. when 4Minute's "crazy" came out they had a lot of promotions, hell a lot of coffee shops had their image on normal coffee cups. Also having a member like Hyuna that's had a history in the music industry (being an original member of Wonder Girls in JYP ent.) they're actually really popular than most international fans see. Maybe not as popular as other big acts like SNSD or 2NE1 but they're up there.

The samples here may be simple, but they are used smartly, and the development of this song alone deserves an award. Plus it's the use of the girls' voices and a well-filmed MV. I didn't notice now many good voices were in 2-3 gen until we lost them😅

You have to expect this. There is the 7 year curse for a reason. The industry in Korea drops off hard once they hit their late 20 early 30s. There isn't enough international support to keep them once the Korean Market gives up.
At best you'll get a GG incident were the members bail one at a time. Usually it ends with the initial contract, if they even last that long. The only girl group from 2005 to 2009 formation that still has all members an be looks to be around a while is BEG. They are letting Ga Ins pot controversy die down but they are still around. This is the industry.
Tl:DR Don't get attached, the industry is set to seem end these. Period.

It was Jiyoon and HyunA who really stood out in both the "Crazy" and "Hate" tracks. For first time, I'm not only seeing Hyuna because Jiyoon fit very well in these concepts. Sad to see the band go though, I'll miss Jiyoon, but I'm glad to see HyunA still out there. She'll be competing with the new generation of girl group idols who are younger and fresher, so I hope Cube will take care of HyunA more now than ever so we could see more sides of her.
