I’ve made this chair and similar types in redwood pine a number of times and found using a decent pattern bit in the table router works a treat. I always ensure that bandsaw the pieces out as close to the line as possible.
for my respected fellow speakers of the king‘s english, these are adiRONdak chairs, not aDIRondak chairs. the word adirondak is a mohawk word meaning „eater of trees“. the chairs became popular in the catskill resorts but you find them everywhere now, but especially on the north east coast of the usa and eastern canada. there are even „jumbo“ versions for our more stately neighbours to the south.
