It's nice that the author decided to release two action-centric chapters as a preview of what's to come, no offense to the other beta mods out there, but having something substantial and fun to play is refreshing to see compared to the more set-piece stuff we've seen in the past

Loved the mix of retail and beta, especially all the weapons (just had to use impulse 101 to try them all). That wasteland view was breathtaking, and Antlion caves entrance gave me shivers too. Also, Combine guard at the end was a great surprise.
I absolutely love this mod, I would like it more with the red arms but that’s optional cause of mods, OH and you can also take the Tau Cannon off the car, and you can basically do the whole H17 chapter without the car cause it makes B-hopping a hell of a lot easier with its boost abilities. Coterminus was an excellent experience for me, and I think one of the best bits of it is how well it can be used as a base thanks to all of the enemies and weapons that are in it. At least 3 separate people have asked me if they could port my Vertigo mod onto it so far.
Recently heard of this mod, and I find it amazing. My favorite era of the HL2 “beta” has always been the 2003 era. It’s a blend between retail and the concepts from 2001. I really like how this mod tries to capture that 2003 look, rather than going with more modern-looking graphics. It adds atmosphere
Gives me the vibe that some of the older Combine units are still around waiting to be destroyed in battle as the newer units from the newer citadels gradually replace them.

this mod is pretty fun ngl, i looks amazing as well, i love a lot of stuff from the beta but i also enjoy most of the base-game story/maps, so seeing the two of them expertly weaved together with the weaponry, maps, and enemies and they just all fit together like beautiful little lego bricks, and it's just amazing, i'm so impressed with the mod author, props to the author, just wow

I love dry sea bed near nova propect seeing the submarine left abandoned by the military. Snd seeing a beach town surrounded by no water its ships also abandoned. The combine train moving to the prison in the distance. I want thus in half life 2.
Found this mod from this video and I loved it. So cool seeing the cut content be readded in a polished and logical way. It really gives a good look at how the game could have been if the beta content wasn't scrapped. Another cool detail that you missed is on the prison, if you look at the security cams you can see the beta stalker enemy (the one that shoots lasers) on one and a group of the big camouflage combine dudes moving down a hallway in another. Sucks they weren't in the levels themselves but I loved see the small little details they added to make the the cut content all fit well together. Super excited to see the mod as it develops.

But that submarine and the Combine Depot are a dead giveaway, as well as those mounds of rock everywhere, really feels like that used to be the sea floor once upon a time.

For a lot of the video, I just thought that the mod was neat, but nothing too special, then 7:00 happened and I was blown away, it’s such a large change and interesting atmosphere, I’m probably gonna download this mod later
interesting. I also noticed that the mod restored muzzleflash illumination. It used to be there in old videos, but then in the vanilla only prop objects get illuminated, while environment doesn't it irks me to no end. I gotta check this mod out
This mod looks amazing, i especially love the choice to use specular based lighting from older builds of source rather than the phong based lighting of newer branches, it just really adds to the tone imo
If Milkyway wants to include the Antlion King they should have it so you can just barely see it in the distance before it moves away. Imagine just walking and you see the body way out where you wont encounter it.
A merger of beta and release content? Reminds me of the RMA Atmospheric Addon mod (and it's own mod, Shadows Addon) for Shadow of Chernobyl, which does pretty much the same thing (integrating beta story beats, levels, and quests into the vanilla storyline) and is similarly based off of later beta stuff than most mods focus on

I don't know why, but no mods seem to replicate the water frothing effect that Dear Esther does. It looks REALLY good, and if you're going for that, you should try to get something along those lines.
I like the design of the Combine Heavy Guard- you can see that it used to be a human at some point, all under the cybernetics. He doesn't even use his original human head to see, it's hidden under the collar of the suit and the guarrd uses the artificial head to see. I wonder if he was supposed to have a crit hit point inside the collar not on the artificial head
I'm thoroughly impressed by the show of constraint used by the developer. I've always been frustrated by how gimmicky or flashy a lot of these HL2 mods can get so to see someone use a more grounded and gradual approach to their mod is a huge change of pace. 10/10, would play.
i hope this mod doesnt fall victim to the famous beta curse. so many mods discontinued for seemingly no reason, or mostly for the same reason. it cant be over money, valve is cool with beta content as long as its free, and all the mods were.
HL2 prob the only game set in Eastern Europe that didn’t have gray skies since they chose yellow instead lol. It looks way more natural and easy on the eyes in this mod

Sceneries in this mod are amazing. Especially the ones on the bridge and near the zombie town.

Coterminus is like those rare mods that actually feels fresh. It feels like HL2, but with the Cut NPCs of HL2 Beta.
