Thank you! We had removed the headliner which has the RTM on it, so no RKE functionality but we needed to move the vehicle. This saved us a lot of headache of having to remove the module from the headliner, etc. Nowhere in Alldata does it even tell you any of this and the vehicle didn't have a manual.
Thanks so much for this! Same problem happens even if you’ve got a good key fob but the alarm has locked you out of starting the car. My 2014 Ford flex has that pocket in the rear left side of the consul.
So my wife called this morning and had this problem. I knew the trick (the salesperson actually showed us when we purchased) but couldn't explain it to her well enough over the phone. Sent her a link to this video and she got it started. Her reply after she got it started..."You weren't telling me I had to pull all my stuff out of the console"

Yes, it should reset once you change the battery. There's a way to upload custom backgrounds using the SD card. You need a specific resolution and folder name, forget exactly how I did it, but search online.
My key broke off of the fob and is doing this. The trick didn't work for me though. I'm having to use pliers to start the car and its taking me about 10 to 15 mins to get it started. And with each passing day it's get longer and longer I'm so tired of this and the key fob is expensive for me

Saved my ass too! This also works for key start as well. Put the key fob in the little pocket thing and then take it out and start car

Im a retired auto transporter. Try pushing the start button with your remote. This will work too.
