I enjoyed the video sir, It brought back some good memories! I ran a "55" Chevy in d/g back in the mid 60's at Dragway 42, National trails, Eldora and many other small strips throughout West Va. and Ohio. Loved to hear that old 301 small block at 8000rpm's with that Olds spooled rear and 5.13 gears! I still drive a "55" 210 sedan and guess I always will. Thanks for the nice memories! Dave Wolfe
thank you..i love stories like that....you guys are the reason im doing what i do keeping the memories and cars rockin like it was back then.....what did times did you run in d/g ?i want mine to run exactly what c/g ran back then...i have alot to learn....thanks again
BIGDADDYDALEWILSON Hey Big Daddy, I ran in the 12.40's at 110 with the old casler "piecut" slicks we had back then. I ran a borg warner T-10 4 speed and a 57 Olds rear with 5.13's. She'd pull the wheels up usually when I hit second at 8000 rpm's. I've had a bunch of "55"'s over the years and also old fenderless coupes, "T" buckets etc... but the old shoeboxes are the best as far as I am concerned! Again, Thanks for the video! Dave Wolfe
What a cool layout for a drag strip. If only I wasn't on the side of town.,,the way far side!Looks like a NASCAR race with all the laps you got in. Someday when I do my US tour I will make this a stop.Hey Dale...what's in the chute pack?...lol.
Great vid, thanks. Your 57' is a sweet car! I do got to say though, my favs there that caught my attention right away was the green five five just for the looks (Night Stalker) then the 41's, all three, the orange 55 & the 57' Ford (car, if the p/u was a 57' too) and, as a whole . . .Bad Ass! is the best description for yours, and all the rest of the gassers. Have a safe & winning race season if you're still in competition, I know it's not cheap.
+chuck lane (Chuckylane) oh yeah we still race and have a blast we run at greer twice a year once in the spring then again in the fall then we have a few races scattered all over the event has gotten alot bigger since this video check us out at the southeastgassers.com,....justin
Southeast gassers race as if it's 1966-67. It's heads up racing. During a time when they didn't use time boards. They are reliving the past. Not recreating it. According to their info. It's also now all 4 speeds. I thought I heard some auto cars in this older video. Also flame paint jobs are against the rules.
All batteries are not the same. 3 leading U.s. made battery companies are Johnson Controls. U.S. battery and Deka. They bake batteries to spec for there customers. You get what you pay for. Sears orders from Johnson controls. They use heavier lead plates, better posts, ect. They also make NAPA batteries which are as good as sears. Wal Mart are also made by Johnson controls but they use lower standard materials per Wal Marts requirements. I could go on and on but If I were you, I would buy Interstate, Deka, Sears or NAPA batteries. Yes, you might pay a little more but you do get what you pay for. You can do a Google search to find out the other batteries Johnson Controls make but remember Wal Mart and other big box stores make the money by buying cheap items. I have used Sears, Interstate and NAPA, I have had a lot of cars and always had good luck and no sudden failures. Greetings from Ody Slim

For some reason they don't like to show the speeds or et.
