This music is very underrated by popular music critics here in north america. Some of the most beautiful tunes ever written. One of the best performances of sabia ever.
Only 4 comments here with this fabulous playing?,come on guys this is top notch playing. Fantastic composition played very musical with great "spacing" so the Music is getting all the Air it needs. Very good playing my friend, I think we're going to hear a lot from you in the future, greets Vic.
Tom Jobim is my favourite brazillian composer. Such deep and touching music. Those were golden years for brazillian music. I think he would be honored with your arrangement. Congratulations. It certainly captured my full attention. Btw, what tuning are you using on the guitar? Best of luck for your future and your new project!
Bravo Daniel! One beautiful Sabia interpretation you have crafted here. I agree with the other commenter who observed that you should dedicate an entire CD work to the music of Jobim. In the tradition of Carlos Barbosa-Lima, you have done the master Jobim proud.
This is lovely! You have the latino touch and play not only with technique, but also with your soul, we can surely hear it. Best regards from a Brazilian that lives in Berlin.
Now this is a beautiful song. Chico and Tom, what a lovely combination huh? Thanx for the invite, is good to have someone like you on my list. Im a brasilian guy that loves brasilian music, mpb, bossa, samba and everything else. I believe you have a personal brasilian feeling. You play it simply beautifully. Congratulations, keep doing this great work amigo. "Agora você só precisa aprender o português do Brasil" :}
Very well, I think its great, this is one of my favorite musics of Tom Jobim and Chico Buarque. About 2 years ago I printed the tabs of this song and I just didn't tried to play it as it was quite difficult! i am having guitar classes and maybe I will try it latter (in some years I guess) Good luck for your future and I will check your videos!
I really like your version. I just posted my take on this and that's when i discovered your channel. though i think i heard your 'umbrellas of cherbourg' piece at some point a while ago. magnificent playing.
I'll go back, I know now that I'll go back That my place is there And there it will always be There, where I can hear the Song of the Sabia I'll go back, I know now that I'll go back I will lie in the shadow of a palm That's no longer there And pick a flower that doesn't grow And maybe someone's love will speak the night The lonely unwanted light That may bring me to the new day I'll go back, I know now that I'll go back They won't be in vain, all the plans I made To deceive myself All the rules I made just to lose myself All the love I made to forget myself Those mistakes I made just to find myself I'll go back, I know now that I'll go back That my place is there And there it will always be, there where I can hear the Song of the Sabia Of the Sabia
+Gustavo Vicelli Hi Gustavo, this is my arrangement and unfortunately I haven't yet notated it. I definitely need to notate all of my arrangements, but with med school being as time-consuming as it has been, I may need some assistance with the transcriptions!
+Daniel Volovets Hello Daniel. Thanks for your comment. I'm impressed with your arrangement, it was simply perfect !!! I would love to be able to play according to your arrangement, it is a pity you do not have it transcribed. Congratulations, there are few people who appreciate the true masterpieces of Tom Jobim, mainly because it is a Brazilian composer. Do you own any arrangement of Tom Jobim available? Can be any music..... I own the complete songbook of Tom, with all the arrangements for popular guitar (MPB). Would you be interested? Congratulations and thank you!!

I'll go back, I know now that I'll go back
That my place is there
And there it will always be
There, where I can hear the Song of the Sabia
I'll go back, I know now that I'll go back
I will lie in the shadow of a palm
That's no longer there
And pick a flower that doesn't grow
And maybe someone's love will speak the night
The lonely unwanted light
That may bring me to the new day
I'll go back, I know now that I'll go back
They won't be in vain, all the plans I made
To deceive myself
All the rules I made just to lose myself
All the love I made to forget myself
Those mistakes I made just to find myself
I'll go back, I know now that I'll go back
That my place is there
And there it will always be, there where I can hear the Song of the Sabia
Of the Sabia
