  • Should Star Trek Enterprise get a conclusion?
    Did you know?
…that contrary to the belief of visual Star Trek fans around the world, the episode “These are the voyages…” was not the end or the last episode for Star Trek ENTERPRISE series. This episode still causes debates on the visual/virtual world of the internet.
According to the Star Trek ENTERPRISE book series, published by Simon & Schuster, "These are the voyages” was an inaccurate and imprecise computer re-creation by Commander William Riker (TNG) were some of the scenes were not true facts. They did not really happen as were shown.
The story of ENTERPRISE continued away from the eyes of the visual and virtual fans through the struggles and conspiracies at formation and then consolidation of the Federation flowing onto the Romulan Wars and the development of new technologies and alliances.
Captain Archer became an Admiral and some of his officers became captains of their own ships during the war Against the Romulan Empire. Some got involved in covert action and some allies did not fulfill their promises to the Federation of planets. If the episode “These are the voyages” was true none of this could have happened.
In the books “Last full measures “and “The good that men do” we find that commander Tucker did not die, but instead was genetically altered and became a Section 31 spy inside the Romulan Empire.
The book series also leave a possibility that T’pol did not end as a lonely, fatherless, motherless, childless Vulcan ostracized by her own people because of her stand in favor of the human mission and contrary to her Vulcan superiors. A federation widow. It is not clear but there is a warmth in the heart of Star Trek fans and in parts of “To brave the storm” that T’pol and Tucker finally ended their lives together (with kids).
Today the conversation about the premature end of Star trek ENTERPRISE continue on the internet and social media demonstrating that fans (old and new Trekkies and non Trekkies) worldwide would like to see it back on the screen for the conclusion of the unfinished stories within ENTERPRISE.
You can help by contacting, spreading the word and sharing these simple videos (or make your own) asking CBS/Paramount and Startrek.com to bring back ENTERPRISE to give a honorable conclusion the story.
It’s not impossible, and now is the right time.
    Thank you.

The first two seasons were indeed rough but the harsh criticism and hate that this series generated was unwarranted. It is one of my favorites now as well and one of the few ST series that I go back to watch over.

I mean this is not an example of the "Every Star Trek Series had a bumpy first few seasons". It struggled because it was trying to bridge too many things at once: First Contact, TOS AND Real Life. It made the show more bleh than interesting. I'm a huge ST fan and I've never made it through all of Enterprise because it's not a time-span I was ever interested in for that universe. I don't care about what happened before the Federation, I want to know about the struggles of the Federation to build that utopia.
And its over reliance on stuff we hadn't heard of before, made it even more uninteresting. For such an awful event as a conflict with the Xindi, it's odd we've never heard them mentioned in any of the other series.
And the "Temporal Cold War" ... yuck ...

"if i tell T'pol the truth she might call their wedding off, or worse - not call it off"
He doesnt want to hurt T'pol,, but he also loves her, and he also doesn't want to cause any trouble. Its both emotion AND logical, making her smile at the end. Like the Vulcan ambassador says to Admiral Forest moments before his murder.

@@bringbackenterprise9220 Eh. It's been too long and I imagine some of the actors are rather too old now to play their previous roles (e.g. Scott Bakula). Plus, I don't trust many modern writers to properly write a Trek series. The latest """"Treks"""" are evidence enough of that. If Enterprise WERE to come back, I certainly wouldn't want it in the hands of CBS, but that's too late now. We just have to face facts and accept that the days of comfy, somewhat nuanced morality-play Trek are over.

      StarTrekSection31 could solve that dilemma...
#Giorgiou could either have a time travel to the faking of Trip's death and retcon from there, or he could be referred to and the story told the way #STSNW revisited the Klingon War to give Mbenga a Special Forces backstory...?

I've always liked Joanna Cassidy - the actress here who plays T'pols mother. She was able to bring a subtle warmth to the character whilst remaining typically Vulcan. Enterprise had many problems. (Many, many, many!) But every once in awhile, they do something that is intriguing that it makes me want more. Like in this episode, a brief look into Vulcan family life. Not Vulcans as diplomats or scientists but as family people. What would we consider “domestic” or “suburban” be like for a Vulcan family? So, yeah, this had me wanting to see more of. How do they show fondness and sentimentality without showing affections? Things like that.

Enterprise did have a conclusion. Maybe not a very popular one, but still a conclusion. It's impossible to bring back a TV show like this after 20 years. All the actors have aged 20 years and can't play these roles anymore. The show can't just pick where it left off.

    • @Ayeshteni
      @Ayeshteni ปีที่แล้ว

You can. Quite easily (assuming the actors agree). Set it 20 years after the end of the series (assuming the last episode was an 'incorrect' holodeck program) or as if the last episode never existed at all. 20 years is not that long in the Star Trek timeline.

Playing a Vulcan in Star Trek is one of the hardest roles you can take. It requires a deep understanding of projecting minimalism emotion. In short, showing emotion just enough for an audience to pick it up, and no more. Thus that minimal emotion becomes a shout so loud you can't miss it. Body language, flare of the nostrils, a well timed sigh or deep breath, a slight eye roll or eyebrow quirk, the slow hardening of tone, or the softening around the eyes. All while speaking calmly amd softly.
Playing a Vulcan well is HARD. But Enterprise did it well.

I'm not sure a live action continuation would make sense. Everyone's too old now for a direct sequel, and I don't think visual effects are far enough along to convincingly deage that many people for that long.
Even then, there's that whole rumored "25% different" clause...
Would you really want _Alex Kurtzman_ in charge of a sequel to Enterprise? Because right now, that's who'd get the reins. Nothing from the original canon can thrive while he and his ilk are still around.

@@bringbackenterprise9220 You're assuming they won't throw out the books and shove their own stuff in. These aren't the same people who worked on the shows before 2005. They have no respect for the source material, and (allegedly) have no reason to because everything has to be 25% different from the original canon.
Back in 2007, Paramount had to get a 3rd party license from CBS so they could start making movies again, but it all had to be legally distinct so they wouldn't cut into CBS's merch sales. You gotta keep in mind back when Enterprise was cancelled, the order came down from a man who had so much disdain for sci-fi he hardly knew the difference between Star Wars and Star Trek, Les Moonves.
Supposedly he's also the reason the Temporal Cold War was even a thing early on.
If a continuation was made right now, with Alex Kurtzman and his ilk still in charge, it'll spit in the face of everything you knew and loved about the show and you'd never be able to look at it or the cast the same ever again.
They'll essentially do to Archer and co. what they did to Picard, and I don't think you'll like that very much.
Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see a proper sendoff, but CBS has to get rid of that damn Alternate License, kick Kurtzman to the curb, and bring in actual fans who care about the series' lore and respect what it's supposed to be. With the current state of CBS right now, pandemic notwithstanding, the time isn't right to demand a continuation. Not yet.

I'd settle for an official repudiation of that Riker fever dream episode on "Enterprise". The Star Trek powers that be only have to fit in a conversation between Riker and Troi in a "Picard" or a ST "short" where they admit/realize the holodeck or holoprogram they used on the Enterprise D, to help Riker deal with his guilt about the Pegasus was malfunctioning, as par for the course. Nothing noncanon about that. I never understood what the connection was supposed to be in the first place.

What an ending. Should have led on to an entire star trek based around the Terran empire after section 31 found ways to subjugate species that aren't human. Maybe that could be the new motto,

    @deathstrike 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

I think T'Pol's mother had the same sort of "dispassionate" outlook as most Vulcans did about humans and especially Terrans (Those from Earth). But when she senses Trip's genuine emotions, she probably thought "These are good people, maybe we were wrong to simply dismiss them as emotional and weak". With all the writings of Surak, he wasn't looking to make Vulcan non emotional. He was simply saying that there is a time and place for emotion, and that it should not hinder one's functioning. Surak was in a horrible time, a time of nothing but war, revelrie, and death.
All the news feed were nothing but waves of anger and pain. He saw a suffering world and wanted to do something to make it right. He wanted his people to see the error of their ways, that emotion while part of them, does not control them. Humans were in a similar situation by the outbreak of WW3 . But all the death and destruction brought humanity together despite its differences and work together to bring a better future. Surak saw this in Archer, and probably said "We are so much alike, you and I. Both have suffered greatly. But unlike you, it took us over 2000 years to achieve this. And you have done it far faster, and in a way far better". And by the 24th century, Humans and Vulcans are commonly married, the merging producing legends like Spock. Sarek (Spock's father) always recalled fondly his decades of life on Earth and how much he loved the planet and it's people. His marriages to Amanda and Pared. So if Trip and T'Pol had married, I think her mother would have welcomed the stability it brought her daughter and new blood to their house.

The temporal cold war crap and the Xindi was Berman and Braga and their usual execrable awfulness. There were occasional episodes, mostly when they seemed to realize, or the writers made them, that they were supposed to be telling the story of the beginning of the Federation that were so very good.
Season 4 started with that absurd time travel stupidity but then Manny Coto started doing what the show should have always been about. Meeting the races that founded the Federation, becoming their friends. It was completely and wholly watchable, even the parts where they had to clean up the shit Berman and Braga had created in the previous seasons, Vulcans who weren't Vulcans. Ending it with an episode that said "we hate this show and all of its fans" was so shocking that I still remember how it felt watching it live and being dumbfounded by it. I get that for Frakes and Sirtis it was just a paycheck but still what were they thinking?
But no, too much time has passed, and the people at CBS have shown conclusively with the venereal disease that they have no idea what Trek is, I do not want ST:E back even for a one off movie to finish it.

While I agree it ended before it should have, I don't think the series could just pick up again where it left off. For one, the "de-aging" the actors would be a makeup pain. Unfortunately, I think Enterprise was simply a victim of bad timing and "fan overload" as it was the 4th series in what was basically a continuous string.

I doubt they will bring it back. They have been on the wrong path since it ended. Now, we have a story line that doesn't work with what was created. Its like the 2000 version of Dune which was a corruption of the 1980's version. The only way to bring it back is to dump the rubbish they have been doing and pick back up the original line.

Enterprise was good and treated poorly by Moonves, but I don't want it back. It's been too long. Let's just get this IP back under control by hiring good writers, who know and like the IP. Set a new series after the DS9 timeline and let's get back to making quality Star Trek.

    • @bringbackenterprise9220
      @bringbackenterprise9220  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, Moonves was one of the true causes of the demise of ENT then. What we are asking is for a honorable conclusion for the fans, an special, mini-series, movie or who knows that last 5th season.

Nice thought but given current zeitgeist not going to happen (or if it does, you'll regret it). Best you can do is watch old SF you haven't seen or rewatch things e.g. Babylon 5, DS9, SG1/A, etc

    Enterprise should be revived .
    As a Mini Series
    Set 20 Years after the
    First Episode
    Let's see what changes that
Archer, T Pol and the Crew of the NX 01
Brought to the Earth after their Mission
    Ended .
    Seeing Archer
    As a Father Figure
    In a new setting
    As a new set of
    Officers in the
    Fleet go out ..
    Is worth seeing.
    Seeing Archer
    Reflect on his
    Earlier Days
    Will be Fun
    Seeing the Cast of
    Enterprise in their
Characters get used to the New Tech
    Of the Later 22nd
    Century is going to be
    Fun .
    The same characters
    Dealing with the New
    Races of the Galaxy
And realizing they made this happen
    Is going to be great
    👍
Seeing them recall and realize the days of No Phasers are over.
    As they experience
    A Changed Universe
    In their lives as
    Humans now have
    Warp Seven Engines
And Deflector Shields and Tractor Beams
And the Ability to have a permanent presence in Space
    will be Great .
    Even a visit to the
Mothball yards where the Enterprise NX-01
    Is sitting in storage
    Is worth seeing ..
    It's like the
    Enterprise NX-01
Is like the Spirit of St Louis of Trek .
Add in a new young guy as the Captain .
    He can be the
    Protegee of
    Jonathan Archer ...
