Fireplace looking really nice. Agree with people below, I don't think there is really enough space underneath for storage. Really enjoying watching the progress on your boat 🚢xx
Hi James, totally agree with Tony, below, wouldn’t bother with drawers for fire wood, wouldn’t hold enough to be useful, even less after you construct the drawers.
I love the oak around the fire. I don't think I would bother with the drop down side though. It wouldn't hold much of anything. All that is needed now is to give the fire and surround a good clean. Especially the fire glass 😯
Wow. Looks far better than I was expecting ! Can't wait to see the finished perfection and then the understated "pretty happy with that" as it looks bloody marvellous.
Nice job James, and you answered the question about the wandering neighbour! Um, but isn't that hinged panel going to hit the floor covering? For the tiny amount of extra storage it provides it seems a bit unnecessary?
Wow your in the home straights now 😀 Congratulations. I’ve just watched your first 3 to 4 videos and was trying to compute how a shell without ballast that required so much scraping would have enough thickness left to pass a survey. I was wrong and your gut instincts and knowledge right. I even checked out collingwood shells/sailaways to see how much they cost vs what you mentioned you had already paid. Lol Your narrowboat is truly starting to take on her own charm and personality I’m guessing with a warm dry summer she will be ready soon for you and your family to enjoy. Take care
looking good James, as far as your kindling storage...what type of flooring are you planning on, you'll have to trim the bottom of your storage cover so as to clear the flooring, might want to trim that now while it's easier to get at.
Great finish on the fireplace!!! That's had us in suspense for months. Great job!!
🤣
Looks very nice. I’m liking your use of the oak on the interior on multiple spots.

What a great finish james. You’re so methodical in your thought process

The fireplace looks lovely James--these finishes make such a huge difference to the look and feel of the boat.
Great job James ! Looks a whole lot tidier.

What a lovely job James.
Bit by bit your home is taking shape. Well done so far!
Hi James - if I was you I would permanently fix the side board in place; it really doesn’t hold much spare firewood
But it could be a place for secret treasure - like chocolate on a treasure hunt which will then melt...
Nice. Feels like you are now on the finishing details. Looks great
Hi James. It’s really taking shape now 👍🏻

Please close the laptop lid when not using the computer. It will help to keep out construction dust and debris.
Top Indoor Working Young James :-)
It's a horrid day here, too. Blowin' a hooley, and persisting down. Sideways.
When you planning to get the electrics finished off? Must be a priority over e fire place if your going to be moving?

I spotted the chocolate ... 🍫😋 ... so distracting 🤣🤣
good job keep up the vids
James, just interested, do you ever eat/sleep etc? :)
Please can you tell us where you bought your flue accessories from?
🎥👌👍
Is your floor Level eventually going to get in the way of the magnet side of wood, do you really need that space underneath
I beg to differ but I don't think that bulkhead needs a darker colour, that green was far too dark, the lighter grey looks better.
I concur
it growing on me. I think once the wall has some adornments, it will look much better
Will Danish oil be enough to seal the panels from the detritus / ash that you'll be sweeping down? Varnish those two cutaway areas?
