You tell a good storey of the history of the canal system . And of the full time cruisers lifestyle. We have a camper van so we do land travel instead of water travel . Oooooooh..... That pipe organ!!!!! 1894!!!!! Wow!!!!! As an amateur pipe organized I can say the oldest organ that I've ever been able to play was a 1936 and it wasn't in the best prepare at the time. That is an impressive church and organ and all those beautiful stained-glass windows!!!!! 🎶

Random thought #2 I was thinking about the traditional boatman’s cabin. I was thinking that it’s like the Industrial revolution’s version of a “tiny house”. Those families had decades or even generations to design and perfect the layout of that space to include everything that they needed. They had to be super clever and efficient because the rest of the boat was obviously given over to cargo. It’s very easy to imagine just a single man or woman living in just that cabin space, but 2 adults AND 2 or more children living in there is an entirely different prospect. It would be really interesting to see an original blueprint as well as observe the evolution over time of that cabin design and layout. The original tiny house 🙂 🙂🐿🌈❤️

Cruising with friends in a convoy has a lot of good things going on especially with those lift bridges sharing the chores. That was a real big badge order from the Chandlry ,its good to see them supporting Canal traders. Your weather is much like ours earlier this week my front lawn was almost snow free and this afternoon we had a couple of inches of snow in 30 mins but it wont last @c above just now goingto -6c overnight .Whitchurch looks a nice town ,love the old buildings and those gorgeous Church windows .J still doing fine Dr cut out the Paracetomol so she's not dozing off so much during the day now. I love the country you cruise through, love the videos. Oh, you should have a USB port installed at the rear (so to speak) so you can plug in to 12V power and keep your nipples up to temp, yes? And cell phone and cameras. As a former boat owner (1939 twin screw Matthews 40-foot) and as a retired diesel/gas truck mechanic, I LOVE the sound of your engine. It's so sweet. Still cracks me up when I saw that telegraph pole at 3:16 to 3:26 and instantly recognised it for being in the back garden of my grandparents pub. He used to have a goat tied to it and it chewed through the rope. Ate all his vegetables then calmly waked in to the pub. Do you remember the two old ladies that lived in the old working barges where you set off from? Any way you have converted me, time to buy a boat. With the Rum Wench all covered in snow , what can you do when theres no where to go ? A tot of rum and a glowing fire keeps out the cold and makes you perspire. Its not so bad when your cheeks are all rosy tucked up in a pirate boat all nice and cosy .

Thank you! thoroughly enjoyed every episode and watched the lot in a week. I have just watched ep 1 again . Still cracks me up when I saw that telegraph pole at 3:16 to 3:26 and instantly recognised it for being in the back garden of my grandparents pub. He used to have a goat tied to it and it chewed through the rope. Ate all his vegetables then calmly waked in to the pub. Do you remember the two old ladies that lived in the old working barges where you set off from? Any way you have converted me, time to buy a boat. If you are every passing down the K&A we will buy you a bottle.

With the Rum Wench all covered in snow , what can you do when theres no where to go ?
A tot of rum and a glowing fire keeps out the cold and makes you perspire.
Its not so bad when your cheeks are all rosy tucked up in a pirate boat all nice and cosy .

Yes we get 2 weeks in winter but I only usually stay 5-6 days … it all goes back to 2 days in busy spots at the end of the month though 😄🏴☠️
Hi Heidi, love the video's, can't beat the gentle chug chug from the engine, reminds me of the time i used to steer my aunt's boat back in the day, my aunt has lived on a boat for well over 40 year's, also love the artwork on the sides, absolutely stunning ❤😊
