That crank is worn out, that’s some massive oil clearance. You could have it reground but it may be cheaper or approx the same price to get a new crank. Check out DPR for cranks. If you are getting a different crank, a counter weight crank would be a wise choice. Then you might as well go with a mild stroke crank and get some more cc’s and low end power. Heard those brass gears for the distributor driveshafts are unobtainium. Looks like a piece of something got loose over those gears and mashed them a little. Re the crank probably best to get a counterweighted unit. Demello or DPR in Ca is a good source for them. Scat is good as well. This is also a great time to consider a nice cam and lifters too. No need to go crazy but get a little more oomph.

You are right. I can go crazy with the engine but, it’s meant to be a backup and cheaper is the way to go. I may add a C25 cam.
