Thanks for this great explanation detailing all the technical listening variations. I am always wondering how to gauge my backing tracks for live performance to avoid being too loud but comfortable to the audience. As a guitarist/singer it's quite hard to access the way to monitor or pre level them on my ipad. I run my tracks through Waves XLM to view them at -6dB peak but first I set the normalize region gain so all my tracks don't exceed -6dB in Logic Pro. So far it has been balanced reasonably well but I'm sure that I could probably do more with perceived frequencies. Appreciate any pointers, many thanks for this video 🙂
