Nice splitter, you will be very happy with this, I have had mine for a few years now and it still starts on first pull, even after a long break. Nice upgrades from my model, the chip clean out, fuel Guage and auto shutoff. 2 things I wish they would have addressed is the smaller table and auto return. I would have like to seen an upgrade or aftermarket larger table that would cover the engine. Also the ability to shorten the auto return when dealing with shorter logs. Thanks for making this, it really is a nice splitter.

Where can you find a replacement gas tank for these champion log splitters? Are there any cheap generic options that work?

It may be the best , theirs no denying that, but there is one problem ... it should have a shroud over the muffler so that the extra chips don't get hot and catch fire. That is all. and people dont bother to let it return all the way it will take you too long to get the job done.

I was looking at this but the smaller foot print and faster cycle time for the Ryobi Kinetic Log splitter is appealing since it has no maintenance involved, will easily do smaller jobs and be easier to store. Am I making a mistake for someone who does small loads of medium size rounds and no larger rounds?

How much gas (just approximate) would you burn to split a full one cord of hardwood to standard size for a larger wood stove that handles 16-20" logs? Just asking for your best guess to guage how much fuel it may burn per cord. Thank you
