I bought a Dean Playmate acoustic bass at a garage sale that was bowed like this, and took a chance on heating it up and clamping it to straighten it. I got lucky that it worked. I really did not know what I was doing. I just ordered a heat thermometer. Always a pleasure to learn something from you Scott.
Scott as I said Sir you are a wizard another fine job. As I had said before I reached out and I have a 66 Fender jazz bass that had the same neck bow issue however locally they were unable to straighten it out with the same heat process and would like to ask you is there something you could do more than what was done on your video to help me to straighten my neck out?
Great job
I have one of these Martin Bass. It sounds so good.

That's awesome! Good for you and the Dean!
I honestly confess I didn't know Martin made an acoustic bass...and it sounds so deliciously good! Great job and great vid Scott!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I’d never seen one before either!
Scott that must suck to have a expensive bass like that warp like a banana!!!! The customer must have cried when he brought it to you
Yes! There were tears of joy when he picked it up. lol 😂

Maybe the truss rod is compromised?
Curious...at what temperature would you risk the fret board loosening?
Anything higher than what I mentioned. Move the heat source further away to keep the temperature below the danger zone
