When you get your new boat, be sure to go back to the Dry Tortguas in late April. There will be thousands of nesting Sooty Terns and Brown Noddies as well as migrant birds. It is a totally different area at that time with the thousands of birds present. Sierra will love it, even Billy will love it!

They most likely used lime mortar to keep the bricks in place or line the water catrchement, hence the stalagmite-like structure under the drip

Nice video Sierra & Bill! 16 million bricks were used to construct Fort Jefferson. They also used crushed and cooked shells to mix in with the mortar in between the bricks.
