My favourite Christmas song, “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson. I heard this played live by the LSO,conducted by John Rutter, at the RAH. The sound effects were awesome. My favourite was the sound of the whip.
A delight to listen to 👏🏻 Great orchestra 🎉 Wonderful jolly joyful orchestral piece of Christmas music and orchestral sounds of sleigh bells ringing 👏🏻👏🏻
2:06 the countermelody on the trombones and the cellos is just incredible. This really enhances the texture and musicality of the song for the orchestra 👍😄🎼🤞🎺🙏🎶🎵
@@caseymartin8047 It would have been an interesting performance if they had all been wearing masks. I wonder what the players of wind instruments would think of that suggestion.
Technically, this isn't even a Christmas song. Although it contains references to things we associate with Christmas, it's just a celebration of a classic New England winter. The lyrics contain no refences to Christmas, just riding in a sleigh with a loved one. Which is wondeful enough.
By far the worst rendition off this classic I’ve ever heard. Such slow, PLODDING tempo. All the life and verve of this piece have been completely sucked out. You can hear at various times the instrumentalists trying to speed up (possibly because they are used to hearing this piece performed far more lively, or possibly out of sheer boredom) but the conductor holding them back. Shame on the conductor for what he has done to this piece.

3:02 I love that the trumpet player looks like he’s going to laugh 😂
This should be put in a museum for people to listen to for the rest of eternity and even at a funeral or at jail
素敵な音楽とメリークリスマス🔔

ESTA MUSICA TE DA LAS IMAGENES CLARISIMAS ES PRECIOSA DE SUPERFICIAL NADA DE NADA. . . UN TALENTO DIVINO❤
1:55 and 1:56 the sleigh ride melody on the trumpets just sounds incredible along with the countermelody on the trombones starting on 2:06 🎵🎶🎺😁👏
Amazing Orchestra!

Christmas noviembre 2024
There were lyrics added later to this piece of music
🎉
What about Lee Anderson's flight into Rwanda? Ask Sir Simon to conduct it.
0:06 I GOTTA PUT LIGHTS ON MY TRUMPET
Was this recorded during COVID? Or why are you all standing this far from each other
I don’t think it was during COVID. They all weren’t wearing masks, and they were still kinda close?
There were clear boards separating them
LOL..!!!

it’s for clear Mic placement & recording purpose.
Pretty leisurely tempo

Whoops thank you! Mulled wine already gone to our heads😉
The Sleigh Bells used look like genuine made in Germany. I have a set myself

You're putting me to sleep with this slow tempo.

It's a sleigh ride, not a cavalry charge.
