Hello there! Awesome project you got here! I did something similar when restoring a Tekken 7 Namco System ES3 as it was just a PC. Just a note, I see that you used Windows 8.1 instead of an Embedded version, I just wanted to say the the Embedded versions has some features that the regular versions don’t, one feature being EWF or Enable Write Filter which prevents data corruption when suddenly shutting down the system. Most, if not all pc based arcade systems have this feature enabled. I think that’s a feature that you should look into but I think there’s a way to enable it in Win. 8. Anyway, awesome looking cab dude!
im amazed how repairable this system really is. do you also have the recovery cd in case something bad happens or the system decides to nuke itself? would be interessting to see how that works
It's a pretty reliable system, the game installed on a regular Windows set up so can't erase itself if messed around with. Since this video I've changed it back to it's original motherboard and graphics card and the whole setup seems to be better for it, even though it''s a bit lower spec than what appears in this video.
I'm using PD-Loader with mods, but mine is just using a regular PC motherboard that I've installed. It would in theory work with the original Sega one once you get past all the protections it uses.
Hello from the US! I picked up a PDAFT cabinet a couple months ago and using your posts on the ProjectDIVA forums as well as your TH-cam channel, I was able to get a custom PC built and running in the cabinet using PDLoader. However, I'm running into the main issue that none of the cabinet controls are working with the game. I've installed the JVS card into the PCI slot on the motherboard and I get lights on the top and middle of the cabinet, but nothing to the buttons or slider. I also seem to be getting no input from the buttons or slider to the game at all, even when I have all input emulation disabled in PDLoader. Are there drivers for the JVS card that I need to download or dump from the original SSD/HDD combo? I have everything connected as it was on the original Nu except for the RS-232 with the black cable which I believe is just for the touch panel which I am waiting on a PCI serial adapter card to hook up. Thank you!

I had it imported from Japan by Netherlands based importer RKLOK.nl. It's a real Sega cabinet, not a reproduction or anything. You would have to try contacting some arcade importers in your area / country to see if they could source one.
I don't use a keychip, I use the PD-Loader launcher to make it all work. However the keychip port is just a normal USB port connected to the motherboard header, so in theory if I had a keychip the game may recognize it even on my regular motherboard.
@@N10248 yeah I think so too, have u seen the Let’s Go Island keychip? it’s something big and weird and I just imagine if I could find some adapter to connect it to my pc
@@automate-skull-666 If you mean the RIngedge version, I don't think they are USB based but some proprietry serial instead. The Ringedge motherboard has a custom daugterboard where the keychip plugs in.
It's a security chip / usb stick that is needed to make the game start. Most of the intenal hardware in mine has been replaced with regular PC parts so the chip is not needed. If I hadn't made any changes to mine and kept it how it arrived I would need one to even make it fully boot up.
