Recently got sapphire nitro+ 7900GRE, switched from 2080ti, and I must say that GRE is a great card! Adrenaline software is simple to use and OC/ undervolting is very easy. Really amazed by 7900GRE and I would recommend this card with all my ❤️
Power efficiency and PPW is very important to me, which makes getting a 4090 or a 4080 Super and locking the global framerate to my monitor's refresh rate really tempting. I feel like you should've at least mentioned power efficiency.

Went for a watercooled founders edition for £400 on eBay back in March, waiting for the next 30 series performance bump like if the 50 series somehow come out at an actual decent price like 80 class cards being 700 but hey a dreams a dream I’m just waiting for a good deal that’s all
To mention, you start to have more a more frame gen software, like AMD FSR or even lossless scaling which works with every brand. So if you plan to buy a low end graphic card, try to found out videos on how much FPS gain it will offer. Input lag can be sometimes there, but that depends entirely on multiple factors.
i went from a 2060 in my prebuilt (10400f, 32 g ram) to a 4060 ti and i did that because it was the max i could go with the same PSU... i dont regret a thing.. i got great gains. now i'm just waiting for the next gen of intel processors with the new socket type and i'll probably be able to get rid of the cpu bottleneck .. but for now its a great upgrade and i can play any game in ultra settings at 1080 p at over 100fps

Sniped a 6750xt for $300. Paired it with a 7500f and tbh it’s perfect. Most games max out my 1440p 165hz display and the ones that don’t usually sit around 120fps

Just bought 7900xtx to replace 4070TI due to horrendeus glitches and artifacts, and coz my new Samsung Odyssey Ark didnt support Gsync. For now I'm happy with it, what will be later, we shall see.

I'm currently in the market for a gpu. For me, I tend to play more solo titles, so quality and detail are a bit more important for me than maybe those who steer towards multiplayer titles. So upscaling and rt would be a little bit higher on my list compared to others. But I also don't want to skip out on raw horsepower.

7700xt is now legit budget best buy and i wouldnt buy anything less powerfull for new games. With 5700x3d for am4 upggrade its killer combo for new few years. I bought 7800xt 7 month ago and i am very happy with it..

@@imboredyt743 Not really if he's not upgrading from a 3060. The 4060 is a great GPU, just a little bit overpriced but it is the best new option in this price range considering what AMD card it competes against.
In the past, I've not been that concerned about dlss or rt. However, my next card will be accompanied by a 4k oled monitor, which makes dlss more of a priority for me now than it used to be.

@@MrAnimescrazy Depends on what kind of price they put on the 5080. If it's $1000ish and is pretty close to 4090 performance, that's probably it. If they go crazy with the pricing, I'll probably just wait a little longer to move to 4k and maybe pick up something from this gen after the new stuff drives prices down. Maybe those oled monitors will come down a bit in price as well by that time.

@@MrAnimescrazy I'm honestly not in a huge hurry to upgrade. I picked up a 3080 10gb for $430 a couple years ago after the crypto mining crash. I've got a 165hz 1440p monitor, and the 3080 does quite well in all but the most demanding of games. The only reason for me to upgrade would be to move to an oled monitor. Since I rarely play competitive shooters anymore, 4k oled seems like the logical next step to me, not to mention that sweet hdr for movies etc.
I like your videos but I think you kind of missed out on this on in terms of title and info. I would be better to call it "best GPU at each pricepoint". I was expecting to see a video which card is the best of my 1440 rig, but I get the best cards at each price.

Was looking at super high fps 1440p and was debating whether to go 4080 super or 7900xtx or just wait to see if the 5080 then go from there. Currently sat on a 3080
5080’s are going to be scalped to shit and be sold for probably 2000+. It’s not too late to go for a 4080 Super or XTX. I got a 7900 XTX for $700 a killer deal! But if ur willing to wait and maybe get super lucky u could wait till 5080

I won't touch a amd card due to Adrenalin. My first pc had a amd gpu, then I had to go through so much in the app to get csgo to play at 1280-960 stretched and on the Nvidia control panel you could do it with 3 clicks

Yes & the size difference between itx & matx is that most ITX cases are smaller than Matx
M ATX and ITX is a big difference usually, and the GPU clearance in an ITX case is going to vary wildly on a case by case basis. In terms of the GRE, if you can afford the extra $150 on it vs the 7700 XT then personally I would say it is indeed worth it :)

For 1080p yes, although you would be just fine with the non xt variant. Large open world maps is where the extra VRAM comes in handy

What CPU do you use when doing these benchmarks? I have a 12700k with a 7900xtx and I don't get the FPS displayed on the charts lol
It depends in so many factors, some of which are:
1) The Ram memory speed you use.
2) whether you run a stock cpu/GPU or OC settings.
3) The game settings you apply.
4) whether you use native or upscaled resolutions.
5) The driver version you got.
6) … etc.
Some other small factors may cause deviations in the results. For example, using a mobo that does not handle power well may cause some limitations, and an unappropriate cooling system or a bad airflow may also cause a repetitive throttle, which may cause a continuous performance drawbacks.
I’m not saying you have to change any parts of your system, but what I’m trying to say is that if you know your system well, you may be able to tweak some of its parameters to get its best out of it.

If you are running a 1080p monitor then yes. I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 5600x and Radeon 7600 (not xt) and I can maintain max settings 100FPS+ on all games I play that allow it. Excellent value for money combination

I am in the exact same position, I'll comment again when I get mine all set up. It will be mini itx.
I upgraded to a 5800x3D and a 4070ti super. At 1440p ultra settings RE2 remake gets 165 fps. Deadspace remake ultra settings at 95 fps. RE4 remake ultra settings at 120 fps. Ray tracing and dlss off on everything. Competitive games like the finals, halo infinite I lower some settings from ultra to high settings and cap my fps at 160.
My last build was ryzen 2700X and 1080 that I used for 7 years. I can see this 5800X3D and 4070ti super lasting me a good 5 years before I decide to upgrade to am6

7900xt in less you want to use ray tracing IN EVERY SINGLE GAME and dlss you dont really need with such a high end card.

Just upgraded my cpu from a 5600x to a 5800x3d since it was on sale. Think I’m gonna upgrade my gpu next from a 6750xt to a 7700xt or 7800xt if I can find a good deal.

Just yesterday I bought the asus dual 4070 super to replace my aging 3060. The reason I went with the 4070 super is simple. I’ve had 2 nvidia cards and never had an AMD card before. I used to have the gtx 980 along with my rtx 3060. The drivers are simple and they work flawlessly in my eyes. My rtx 3060 is still a very capable card in mid 2024, however I play on a widescreen 1440p with 165hz and I really wanted to take advantage of this. If you play 1080p then the 3060 is amazing. Anything higher an modern titles will destroy it. For example I was playing dead island 2 with my 3060 and everytime I threw a bomb or some flame zombies came on screen my frame rate tanked to about 30. Otherwise I was playing at a sole 70-80fps the whole time with max settings and fsr2.0. Mind you this was at 1440p. Call of duty mw3 would get around 100-140fps on competitive settings. The 4070 super in call of duty gets me 210-250 fps. And the games feel so much smoother with the 4070 super. I would love to try an AMD card one day, yes they’re powerful, but I’m a nerd and I like cool features.

@@apologyvector4492 I have an x470-f gaming motherboard with a 5900x. Seeing as I play in 1440p and not 1080p, the cpu is under much less stress. I rarely ever see above 30% usage on the cpu while gaming. And i can get it to boost clock speeds to 4.9ghz. You can also use amds software to turn off half the cores for higher boost speeds, but I have not seen a need for this yet. I chose the 5900x because I like to use MSI afterburner, a fan control app, and discord while I play games, and the extra cores really help in those situations.

@@apologyvector4492 I use a 5900x from amd, I went the 5900x over the 5800x3d because I wanted more computer power over all. With very heavy cpu demanding games, even the 14700k can bottleneck the 4070 super. So as long as you have a high end cpu within the last couple of years you should be fine

For 1080p. 8gb is fine rn but if u have the money get something like 6700 xt
8gb is fine but try to get something with a bit more if you can. I've been using a 6750xt for awhile and it's been a beast at 1080p. I can pretty much crank settings and not think twice (although that might be changing soon if ue5 starts ruling the roost)
The thing is I’m stuck between the MSI x slim 4080 super for 1100 or the 7900xtx taichi edition from asrock for 960$
The taichi isn't a good card better to go nitro+

When it comes to the 7900XT vs 4070ti Super @ 1440p, sure, the AMD card beats the nVidia card in rasterization, but as soon as you turn on DLSS/FSR and/or raytracing, the nVidia card comes out on top. And being that pretty much most recent games support DLSS, anything older probably isn't going to run bad enough that you'd be wishing you got the AMD card instead.
In other words it needs dlss to compete. Pure performance it's underperformed for being a higher costing card

spending that much money on a cpu only 3 options the 7900xtx (to save money for better raw performance than the 4080 super), the 4080 super, or the 4090 cause its the best gpu for gaming right now.

Waiting for the next series is a game of patience. Both companies release a better value card after the first editions. Personally value is important because I don’t play the absolute newest games anyways. That’s why my next build will be all AMD high-mid tier.
My 6800XT died a month ago. Irreparable unfortunately. I mostly only play CoD so RT not important to me at all. Looking for a nice deal on a 7900XTX, otherwise I might drop a tier down and get a 7900XT. (Have a 1440p 240Hz monitor and a 7950X CPU)
Is the 3060 Ti a 1080p or a 1440p card? I have an ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti OC with a Ryzen 5 5600 and i'm not playing AAA titles.
it can do pretty good in 1440p. For 1080p you can play decently with a 3060 even a 3050
The 7800xt definitely plays more games in 4k 60+ fps than most every other card. Ray tracing is the issue and even with that on, most games are at least 30fps at 4k, which is fine for most in non multiplayer games.
I got my radeon 7700xt with ryzen 7 7700x and a msi b650 motherboard but idk what psu to get. Can anyone recommend one? I did pcpartpicker and it says 475w for it but ive seen people go to 750w but idk which one to get this my first pc build and this is all new to me

750w will be enough, but always buy at least gold rated, and maybe platinum if you have the budget
Im a content creator and from different platforms that cater to productivity pc builds says that NVIDIA got amd beat. Now on the other pure gaming I love amd but for my creation pc i definitely want that NVIDIA gpu 😮💨🤷🏽♂️ currently grinding to get it

It depends how much do you value DLSS and raytracing that help a lot on 4k resolotion vs 20gigs of VRAM. Otherwise the 7900xt is king on 1440p and overkill on 1080p.
What if i value it alot. I gonna pplay ark ascended in it which requires dlss to be playable in epic setings, also this games uses alot of rayttacing.

Does it make a difference, when deciding between AMD or Nvidia, what the rest of your computer build is like? I seem to remember that AMD can only give it's all with certain CPU's and the Same for Nvidia. If that's the case, with Nvidia being the better known name, that might explain the earnings call. People dont want to build all new rigs to swap to a different product line and just go with what they know works.
6800 xt at 400 dollars on amazon - its almost as good as 7800 xt but 80 dollars less

Had amd gpu’s and my in laws did and my coworkers. All had driver issues. Went back to nvidia, no issues. Sucks because I want amd to be good

It's an ok combo. It's should be paired atleast with say 4070ti as the minimum and that's what the gre is.
If the rtx 4060 was released its price should have probably been in the $229 to $249 range

Great 1440p combo but 7600x is the better option for only 10-20 bucks more. I'm gonna build a new pc too and thought the same thing between the 2
@@DetectiveDuck787 7600x and 7600 has no significant difference, not worth 10-20 bucks increase. 7600 non-x are just slightly downclocked 7600x, only 1-2% difference.

Im getting a Ryzen 7800X3D, but i don't know which GPU to get, im between a RX 7900XT , RX 7900XTX oe Nvidia's 4070 Ti/4070 T Super....
I just bought 7800x3d bundle from micro center. Got it with a sapphire pulse 7900 xt. Builds fine, but getting black screen/driver timeout failure even after a clean install of windows and amd drivers. Prob gonna return the card might switch to nvidia

Take X3D and 7800xt. You can keep the x3D for at least 3-4 years.

you are safe buying used mobo or refurb parts like ram and case it will save you a shit ton same with power supply

good card but for that price just get a 7800xt its like 20 ish dollars more for a better card with more features.
If you're looking at previous gen I'd consider the rx 6800 (non xt) since it's a fair bit cheaper, otherwise just get the 7800xt

Well I need to let you know why I had to buy an Nvidia GPU and it was because specifically stable diffusion and amd's gpus simply perform exceptionally worse and it was just not an option for me
the rx 6950xt has the same performens as the rx 7900xt for 150$ less new
I got an open-box RX 7900 XTX in August of 2023 for (the equivalent of) $850USD. There's no question in my mind that I made the right choice.
Do u think it will be able to run 1440p max settings in games coming in 2025 at 45-60 FPS? I got one too but I’m worried it’s going to start slowing down on newer games. Or will I be good for another 2 years?
@@pluschy7886 Are you kidding? It's faster now than it was when I got it because of AMD fine-wine. Just search for RX 7900 XTX fine wine and you'll see. I expect this card to last me until 2030 with its 24GB of VRAM.
I've used exclusively Radeons since 2008. I guess I've been pretty happy with them, eh? After all, I wouldn't have used only Radeons for sixteen straight years if they sucked!
I doubt that you'll find anyone with an XTX who regrets buying it.
RT not that important, but DLSS/DLAA, Nvidia Reflex Boost, and G-Sync is too valuable
