There should be a law that people who play sim racers aren't allowed to review arcade and simcade racers. All they do is whine about how they're not more sim-like. They never understand that those of us who don't eat pizza with a fork ACTUALLY PREFER IT THAT WAY.
For an arcade racing game, this is pretty awesome and I would say even better than FH4 in terms of racing and not free roaming. I actually like the driving physics on this game for an arcade feel, something different than other sim racing games that I play like Assetto Corsa, ACC, Project Cars 2, Dirt Rally 2.0.
I tried it after the price went down and the handling was the biggest gripe I had. Felt like every car had no suspension and the car just slid along the tracks plus the camera was stuck in place. Like a on-rails game smh. I stick to autosport.
True. The handling in Grid 2019 is kind of weird. That's also my biggest point of criticism. You could even think that you could skip every second "grid". The original grid was great. Grid 2 went in the completely wrong direction. Grid Autosport was good again, even if it doesn't come close to the original in my opinion. Grid 2019 is just mediocre for me, especially because of the handling...
You have got to be joking. I own all the GRID games, including this one. The handling in this new GRID is far superior to Autosport, as each car handles differently depending on the type of car (FWD, RWD, 4WD).
@@hitodium no man, even that money is too much for that sh!t. There's an annoying steering lag, guess that's an effort to make it "realistic" that ended up being pathetic af. So don't even bother man, your 2.75 will be better in your pocket.
I played Grid Ultimate on XSX. Started with the Hypercar Season 3 and worked my way back to GT Season 2, Hatches Season 1 and Original Career. I finished the hypercar season, did many gt races and just a few hatches ones. Didn't do much of the original career, found the cars underwhelming. Alrhough I had fun overall, my problem is car handling can be treacherous around corners. Even in a straight line when breaking heavily, I had difficulties keeping some hypercars on the track, like the Koenigseg Jesko on a wet track in China, for example. Many corners feel like I have to fight against the slippery car. A small tap from another car will easily throw me off the track. Terrible car physics. It's a shame because the game looks great and feels super fast at 60 fps. The atmosphere is also good, kind of gritty. Some tracks look incredible with tons of eye candy. I will be trying the 2022 Legends soon. I really hope they've sorted out the lacklustre car handling around bends.

Oh man this game is so close to something I’m looking for. I’m on a search for simcade racing games on the ps4 with easy to learn drifting (need for speed rivals and inertial drift being one of my favs) and this game looks so FUCKING close to what I’m looking for. Is there any games like this that aren’t shit?
Short answer no. Long answer? Still no, Why? Codemasters stopped listening to their fans YEARS ago, on top of this their attitude of ignorance and abandoning support for games after the final DLC has ruined their reputation for good. When players complained about the GFX glitches, poor draw distances leading to morphing trees, cubemap errors all over the place, shadows appearing right in front of the cars, it's woefully BAD FFB, the Hud on ultrawide being offcentre (I,e, locked to the left edge of the screen) which they CLAIMED they couldn't replicate then said was fixed... Yeah their fix meant it was then locked to the edges of the screen so for ANYONE on ultrawide or triple screens the HUD was uselessly out of line of sight. When they later told us to "Manage your expectations.." along with comments like "No plans to fix the HUD on ultrawide but We'll consider it for the next title.." plus "It's too much work to add more graduations to the tuning.." when they actually DID do so for it's predecessor, this was the last straw for many like myself. This is why the player reviews for "GREED 2019" are the worst in Codemasters history.... 64% positive reviews atm (Grid 2 88%, GAS 77%.. Seeing the pattern here???) Codies bought out SMS makers of Project Cars 1 and 2 who told us PC3 will be all the sim you'll need only to release a poor POS arcade racer that just mocked it's fans utterly.. it has a mere 55% approving of it. (PC1 77%, PC2 79%) So Codies with over 700 staff and a revenue of $87,000,000 and SMS with 175 staff and a revenue of $81,000,000 are completely unable to retain player faith that they can and will produce a decent game and properly support it after launch... Codemasters attitude to it's staff is insane, in the days after Grid 1 and Dirt 1 fans were told we'd see a Grid game followed by a Dirt game the following year and this would repeat, they reneged on this shortly after and most of the Grid 1 devs left to form another company (Playground Games to be precise you know they guys making Forza Horizon). 6 YEARS later they released Grid 2 to great acclaim from NFS fans but mostly derision from the Grid 1 fanbase it sold really well with estimates of 2-5 million copies according to Steamspy. Along cam Autosport a return to more Grid 1 style handling, loved by the Grid 1 fans but hated by the Grid 2 fans, it sold a mere 500,000-1 million copies, because of this "failure" Codies fired 60% of the Grid team. Codies bought out Evolution Studios and pushed them to make Onrush for Sony which was panned by both critics and players alike, so Codies fired most of them or fired and re-hired them on worse contracts because of the failure... They rebooted Grid yet removed Drifting and Demolition Derby, 2 cornerstones of the original game meaning Grid 2019 actually has LESS cars and tracks than Grid 1 had. Codies and SMS collective attitudes left me totally disillusioned with gaming to the point I said I'd NEVER buy their titles and never again would I pre-order a game before launch and player reviews came out... Then among comes Reiza Studios, making Automobilista 2 on the Project Cars 2 & 3 game engine, all ex modders who formed a games company on the strength of their mods for Assetto Corsa and other games, 24 staff with a revenue of a mere $4,000,000 and make a game with player approval ratings of 88%, monthly updates both free to all and as DLC's, patches and bugfixes rolled out within 7 DAYS for major issues, full and complete support for the title for 2 or more years, a season pass that DOES include everything coming in that time... Now do you see why Codemasters sold out to EA??? For $1.2 BILLION?? A BAFTA award winning company reduced to selling out to EA thanks to their DISGUSTING attitude to their devs and fans alike.... (Grid 1 won the best SPORTS game BAFTA beating Fifa and Pro Evolution Soccer, Codies BEGGED for votes in the Steam awards for best game innovation for Grid 2019 and lost to Nintendo Labo... Nuff said). EA got robbed imo but given THEIR past and current attitude to players the deserve it, it's a match made in hell! Seriously though... If you have a steering wheel play AMS2 for 2 hours... You'll NEVER play Greed 2019 again!
Codemasters had nothing to do with Project Cars 3. The game was in development long before the takeover. People like you are always looking for a reason to whine.
I mean some codemasters games haven’t been good such as Onrush or Project Cars 3 and some others have been great such as DiRT Rally 2.0 or the F1 franchise. Their games are kinda hit or miss for sure but the good games have been pretty damn good. In terms of Grid 2019, I feel as though it had potential but didn’t quite live up to its dreams. It’s a game I want to like but can’t find myself enjoying it too much. Also why did you write so much? I can guarantee that nobody read the whole thing.

I purchased at 3 usd and still thought if i should return it, but then decided to check reviews if some people are ok. Honestly i didn't liked its more sim like turning ability, yes the cars slips while over speeding at turns. Some kids believe they are very good at tuning cars in Forza games just because it is fake turning. Go tune in real life and show me your high grip car. (I bet you will crash).
This game got boring fast. Not many tracks, cars, or game modes and every race feels the same. Fun game but wouldn't recommend paying more than a few quid for it.

It's practically dead on PC as well between 78-165 players min max in the last 24 hours, only reason there's THAT many is the constant sales and bundle deals on Steam, a mere 78 DAYS at full price since launch player numbers are STILL falling whilst AMS2 numbers increase every month, read my post above to see WHY this is the case....
