Lyrics
I know what I know
I'll sing what I said
We come and we go
That's a thing that I keep in the back of my head
I know what I know
I'll sing what I said
We come and we go
That's a thing that I keep in the back of my head

KAOS brought me here ! That song is awesoooome
heey same hahhaha i love this song
Todo un clásico...a medida que pasa el tiempo se escucha mucho mejor...o me equivoco..
The whole Graceland album was a true masterpiece... his best...
That intro is the most South African you can get! Even if you hear this song for the first time in Siberia, you would know instantly that it is from South Africa!
Its actually not south African. That bassline is rhumba pioneered by the likes of franko and his TP OK jazz band and tabu ley and his rochereau band. They were all from DRC. Just listen to any of frankos songs particularly, Mario, and you'll hear the similarities.
@@TheMrgoodmanners
Get your facts right! Go do some research on the Graceland album. Most of the songs were composed by South Africans, hence most of the band members are South African. For your information, this is a rearranged song, originally composed by Daniel Shirindza, from Limpopo Province of South Africa. On bass, which you’re claiming, is world renowned South African, Bakithi Khumalo.
You correct. And when you listening to it carefully, ain't different from south african bubble gum music. Songs like come duze, mama's baby, pat shange etc
Wouldn't 'true' SA be Zulu? Come back Johnny/SavukaJuluka. So sadly mourned
❤❤❤❤❤😂
Paul Simon's band members have more fun than any other musicians I've even seen!
we come and we go, that's a thing that i keep in the back of my head
Isaac ‘Mnca’ Mtshali on the drums. May his soul continue to rest in peace. King Bakithi Kumalo on Bass guitar and Ray Chikapa on lead. Only Paul Simon can bring such amazing talent together. 🔥
People, this is called music !
Desde mi minez la escuche en Venezuela wow ha llegado lejos
It's more than music, It's chicken soup for the soul.
You may only see one dimension of the spiritual tapestry that he has weaved.
Do you know who the 'she' is that Paul seems to reference in many of his songs..,
Did you know that Graceland is land of Gods' good grace ?
Or the boy in the bubble is Jesus who now has the heart (courage) of a monkey.., see no evil speak no evil hear no evil..,
Three wise monkeys.
P.S. The 'she' Paul sings about is exactly the same anonymous 'she', 'baby' 'woman' or 'her' as used by hundreds of other musicians/bands in probably thousands of different songs.
Like The Doors.., L.A.Woman
LAW oman.., omen 🤔
Ray be having fun here. RIP Ray Phiri
"Who am I to blow against the wind?" please everybody remind that! What an immortal masterpiece Graceland is!
Can you please explain what it means , l'm a bit lost 🤷♂️
It Is a verse from the Song I know what I know. To me It Is one of the most beautiful verse ever writtenv@@raggedyman6327
What I love most is how Paul brought most of the singers and musicians from his original live Graceland concert in Zimbabwe in 87’.
Indeed. Well played by him.
The dynamics are amazing

the 3 choristers and the guitarist are the ones from that concert in Zimbabwe? good
@@rubentorres5329 los guitarristas son los mismos, no se si las coristas sean las mismas.
I remember the controversy of Mr Simon bringing LadySmith to the states and doing these songs from Graceland…. I remember how he was torn down… Graceland still my favorite and how I personally will forever remember Paul Simon… He broke the barrier, stood by it and created one of the most brilliant cds of all time
woke before woke
The 3 ladies are amazing doing those choirs ! wowww !!!
Yes, they are good. But I like the more unusual off-harmonies of the original version better. Gets me every time.
I never knew I loved so many songs from Paul Simon’s. He is so cool in front of this crowd and his lyrics always kept me intrigued as a pre teenage girl🎸
Listening 🎧 in January 20 2024...🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎸🎷🎸🎷💃❤️
Ray Phiri, Hugh Masekela and Tony Cedras passed on already. Great SA musicians. RIP.
En el Caribe Colombiano a esta cancion le llamamos Los Sapitos, me sorprende como permanece de bien la voz de Paul Simon
Ritmo we dance to in Caratgena, Colombia. Love ir!!!!
As south African i beam with pride when i watch this concert. Thanks Paul for making our musicians shine on the big stage
Thank's Paul, your music is the best. I am from Cartagena-Colombia and when people listen this song, they and me are so happy.
I am from Cartagena, Colombia. Awesome music. Reminds of music from Cartagena. African music.
Colombia is a great country!
The musicianship of everyone on that stage is astounding. It’s amazing how diverse the range of instruments used are and the flexibility of each performer in using them.
In those days, backup was mostly with Black women for this of music. The range of instruments was incredible because he performed with South African musicians for the Graceland tour during aparthied. He was also involved with Miriam Makeba - Queen of Africa. Two legends - one from America and one from South Africa who was banned and fled her country.
y por eso son GIGANTES de la música y lograron traspasar fronteras...realmente son sorprendentes
I concur; what a great jam this was!
Fantastico Paul Simon canzoni indimenticabili 😍👩❤💗❣

I keep watching this concert over and over again, wish I could have been there! I wish I could have met the band, I would have asked them 2 things 1. what was the biggest thing that you learned from Paul Simon, 2, what did Paul Simon learn from you? Now that will need to wait for some time!
RIP ray phiri. Truly a guitar legend

I Know What I Know
Lyrics:
She looked me over
And I guess she thought
I was all right
All right in a sort of a limited way
For an off-night
She said, “Don’t I know you
From the cinematographer’s party?”
I said, “Who am I
To blow against the wind?”
I know what I know
I’ll sing what I said
We come and we go
That’s a thing that I keep
In the back of my head
I know what I know
I’ll sing what I said
We come and we go
That’s a thing that I keep
In the back of my head
She said, “There’s something about you
That really reminds me of money,”
She is the kind of girl
Who could say things that
Weren’t that funny
I said, “What does that mean
I really remind you of money?”
She said, “Who am I
To blow against the wind?”
I know what I know
I’ll sing what I said
We come and we go
That’s a thing that I keep
In the back of my head
She moved so easily
All I could think of was sunlight
I said, “Aren’t you the woman
Who was recently given a Fulbright?”
She said, “Don’t I know you
From the cinematographer’s party?”
I said, “Who am I
To blow against the wind?”
I know what I know
I’ll sing what I said
We come and we go
That’s a thing that I keep
In the back of my head
I know what I know
I’ll sing what I said
We come and we go
That’s a thing that I keep
In the back of my head
I know what I know
I know what I know
