Brilliant, this was a concern of mine. Buying one today for my 3yo. Also going to mod the rear to add extra storage space so we can go camping together.
I was able to remove the Weehoo grips by inserting a screwdriver to create a gap and then spraying lubricant under the grip. It helped to have the grips vertical so the lubricant would drain down the entire length of the grip. Quick question: what brand bar ends did you use? Most seem not to fit the narrow Weehoo kid handles. Thanks!
Hey, great idea! I'm also a bit nervous about what would happen if I crashed. One question though, how did you get the bar ends on? The Weehoo grips are too thick and I can't take them off, they seem to be glued to the frame. Any help would be appreciated!
Have you ever strapped a balance bike to the back? Mine loves to ride for a bit but can’t go on long rides, I love the idea of this but not sure how it would work if we brought her bike along. Any ideas?
thanks, great video ! I just ordered one and I was kind of worried about my kid's hands or head dragging on the ground if I go down. I like your safety modification and I just ordered pair of Boxer Bar Ends.
Hi I’ve just a 2016 model in the uk. I just brought some bar ends after watching your video. But was wondering how did you take the weehoo grips of to put the bar ends on please.
Pretty sure they'll protect the kid's hands, but not so sure about the tipping safety. As a rule of thumb, motorbike manufacturers don't put on frame sliders (a bit like this) because while they can protect again small drops and scrapes, they provide a higher up pivot point around which the bike can roll when the frame slider - or in this case bullhorn handle - digs into the ground and stops the bike more abruptly, resulting in a higher impact velocity (head to ground). So: probably safe(r), but not bulletproof, so take care (which I'm quite sure you do, seeing the extends you go to protect the kid).
We purchased one in April 2020. We love it but the clip that slides to the base of the seat for the seatbelt has a slit. It looks like it’s made that way for you to slide it in. While riding the seatbelt comes apart. Very unsafe...has anyone had the same problem? We spent a lot of money to not use it.
Very smart safety modifications, quite surprise these were not thought of in the original design. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
Mountain bike bar extensions are a genius move. Nicely done.
Thanks

I wish I remember what size they were. I just measured with some calipers and ordered the size on eBay
Thanks so much for the adjustment options like the mounts bike handle thanks
Thanks for the safety modification idea!
Love the handlebar idea thanks for the tip! I'll be adding to mine as well

I was thinking the same as you.... what did you end up doing?

Awesome idea. Just bought one yesterday. Will add this also.
Can’t find our calipers anywhere 🙃 does anyone happen to remember the measurement? Thanks!
Nice video, great tips!
Thanks
Does the trailer turn when you come to a stop?
Anyone have ideas on how to make the Weehoo more stable as the child becomes heavier? I was thinking of some strong training wheels. Thanks.
MUY BUENO.- LO VOY A COPIAR...GRACIAS POR ESA IDEA...SALUDOS DESDE VENEZUELA.

You could always epoxy that shut if it has come apart on you
Where did you get the handle bars
eBay. I just measured the diameter with some calipers and ordered some
I love it
your coupling device should have a universal joint then you wouldnt have the wobbling problem.
this coupler is same as universal joint.
Your wife is 65 pounds?? sixty five?
If your referring to the weight limit, yes she did exceed the limit when she sat in it lol. She is about 130.
