Crafting a Victorian pincushion for my sewing table

I love all things Victorian and inspired especially when it comes to small sewing notions and haberdashery.
When I saw this style of pincushion in a museum not only was I intrigued by its practicalness but by it‘s delightful appearance. This little box is great for storing sewing pins, small scissors and other sewing notions.
Here I am doing my best to recreate it from memory . The original pin box did not have a covered button on top.

Sew lovely to hear from you. I am currently spending some time away from YT to focus on my Etsy Hat business. Making video’s take up a great deal of time and creative energy so I have pressed pause for a moment and will revisit the idea in the new year. Lovely pin cushion! I would like to adapt your technique for a couple of empty match books that I have lying around. One question, though: Where did you get the wonderful button fabric weights?

Yes! You should absolutely do that! I think that’s a lovely idea and who doesn’t love a little box of goodness 💁‍♂️. I bought the fabric weights online, search for
…… Cohana Button weight, they come in a variety of colors. I use them for everything….super cute and super handy.
