  • Picked this up from Home Depot a while ago for installing some doors in the basement.
    It’s a good beefy level.
Texture on the edges makes the level hold better.
Reasonable flatness for my requirements but certainly not machinist level of precision.
Many areas flat within .001” but one area not so great at .006”.
    Good enough for me.
Biggest tip is to always buy your level in person and check to see the vials read true when the level is flipped end for end! People may look at you funny in the store but it’s your money and make sure the level you get is reading true!!

In remodel we use 4ft levels for doors and we use these 78" for setting base cabinets and flooring adjustments. but to each their own. they make great levels.

Is this model good for making sure floors are level? It looks like it only has one horizontal level. Or does that matter? I’m a newb with home improvement.

Yes. This would be good for levelling floors the extra length will allow for better consistency.
Just make sure the one you get is calibrated properly. Basically put it on something level and then rotate it 180 degrees. The bubble should be in the same position it was.

There are some reviews out there. Stabila isn't all it's cracked out to be. And yeah just because you are old doesn't mean you do everything right.

My idea was just to show what’s available for the average woodbutcher walking around needing a good level.
For sure the DeWalt level isn’t perfect but for a lot of people it will do perfectly well enough.
This was purchased by me with my own money. I just want people to see what they are getting with theirs.

@@mbwoodbutcher dont get me wrong, i love dewalt, but ive been ising stabila for 40 years, and always will. And yes it IS all its cracked up to be. If your stabila isnt accurate i would be looking at how you treat it. I see guys frowing them around like its a shovel. They are guaranteed for the length meaning they can slide down a walland hit the floor and should be good. But stabslila vile is floating (for a reason)
