Honestly, I doubt it. He gained a sense of clarity after being beaten a second time, and after killing the council. In the cutscene you can see how calm he is, knowing his own actions and accepting his imminent death
What I'm hoping for is that the last time we fight him, the health bar just says 'Gabriel'. No titles like 'judge of hell' or 'apostate of hate' just... Gabriel. Not fighting for some divine cause, but fighting for himself. That health bar would be the most intimidating I'd have seen in a while
