I needed this video. I have every planner I could possibly need for 2025 and all I do is go back to my weeks. I love the paper love that it’s not bulky and it’s the perfect planner. I’m now selling everything else I have. You gave me the reality check I needed!
@@samplans@samplans I have also jumped around planners this year, but the hobo weeks are really working for me, and I love your videos to see how you set yours up. I do have to say I wish the months were within the weeks as that is what I am used to, but now that I'm using the weeks, I'm getting used to it this way, too. I use tabs as I often need to flip back and forth quickly between month and week, so that helps me.
It's amazing how the Weeks is so adaptable to my changing needs. It's all in the details. For example, the year I used the annual overview as an exeercise tracker, I realised that the lined section has seven rows, one for each day of the week so I could plan my workouts each month (M=cardio, T=strength etc).
2024 has been my first time in a weeks & I love how it’s working for me. The size is perfect and the weekend days are the same size as the weekdays, which I really needed! 😊
You just can’t beat construction of the Weeks!!! Absolutely love how it feels in hand. The cream paper is taking a bit for me to get accustomed to, but well worth it!
Helpful video - thank you! I have just gotten my first Weeks. I love the Cousin and keep seeing how much people love their Weeks so I finally got one. But I am completely put off by the cream colored paper! I'm glad you started with that one. You give me hope that I will just get over disliking it so much.
Love this video! I am really looking forward to using my first Weeks at the end of the year. And at 73 years young I am also looking forward to collecting a stack in the coming years 😍
2:30 for real 🙌🏻 Like what you said, shelf ability 📚 As someone who live in small spaces, having a planner that's slim, portable matters to me ❤ I've always liked the horizontal weekly layout since middle school and that format works for me til now.
That's funny about the paper color...I didn't really notice it until you said something and I put it next to a notebook with white paper. I'm actually using the same Hobo weeks you are right now. I got navy for next year. Thanks for another great video.
I really like the ivory pages. I do not like the weekends, but I work around the situation. My week begins with Jesus on Sunday. So, I start my week on Sunday turn the page and plan my week from there. 💚💚💚
Love your video ❤ I keep my weeks too. Since I do some journaling in there and not only planning, more a book about my life. Have thrown other planners away. But I always keep my weeks🥰
You made me miss the weeks from Hobonichi. I have moved to Sterling ink because of their white paper and the grids on the week days pages. I do miss the sturdier cover and mostly the cute little adhesive clear pocket that comes with hobonichi weeks. Wish they would sell those cause I REALLY loved and used them and can’t find anything like them.
Hi Sam, agree with all the reasons you love the Hobonichi Weeks - but I really wish the monthly calendar had a Sunday start. I struggle with Monday start so I just end up not using the monthly much.
100% on the weird hanging date issue! I couldn't put my finger on that, but you made realise it's a real bug bear for me. I love the flexibility. I love the size and shape. I love you can make it a bit chunky and it survives. I love it in covers. I love it out of covers. I agree on the order of the year/month/week. About to go year 8 in a Hobonichi, 7 in a weeks (regretted the A6 as an edc in 2021!) and got a cute shelf line up. I've found joy in the A6 for memory keeping for now. Bought the A6 weekly supplement to throw in my bag with an A6 little notebook. Which may or may not work. I just love the weeks. Pretty sure as long as I'm lucky enough to afford it, I'll have one. Lovely video Sam and happy fall and spooky season! 🍁 💀
I love the look of that! As a teenager I carried the cheapie monthly calendar that was checkbook size. This seems so similar and easy to take with you. I have invested a ton in Happy Planner not sure what to do with all that. It's not really in condition to sell.
I have to say the two reasons that always steer me away from the Sterling Ink N2 planner is that 1) Sterling Ink does not offer hardcover notebooks, they are all PU leather or the thinner cardstock and 2) My brain would never cope with the awkward space under the weekly dates 😂 ... Last year I wanted all the shiny new things... this year I embraced the fact that I am a Hobonichi Weeks girl through-and-through lol
Not finished watching but I just had to say I totally agree on your number 2 reason. The fonts and colors of the Hobonichi Weeks just give it so much personality. It's got built-in cozy, quirky vibes and the other competing brands feel very neutral in comparison - for me they're too bare. In a way the Weeks (and all Hobonichis in my opinion) feel less intimidating to break in cause there's already stuff on the page that sets a tiny bit of a tone. 😊 I adore it! I totally get why people are attracted to more neutral options, it's just a matter of personal preference. Lovely video so far! Excited to watch the rest. 💜
The weeks had become my favorite planner as well. I love the size and actually everything you love about it I totally agree with!! And this is my first year 😱 where have I been?!! Do you use a stencil for your weather icons? That’s given me an idea 😁 love your videos ❤ thank you!
@@samplans I did come across that video where you shared that shop was closed. I’m sure you’ll believe when I say I found in my stash that I had a similar stencil. It takes practice… or maybe my stencils are not the greatest 😂. Also, I went to jenika journals and ordered one for my moleskin notebook. I did reach to her and let her know I found her through you channel, just in case you get a kick back.
I have two collections going for years now and that is the Bujo and the Hobo A6. I have to have 3 bujos a year so that needs quite a bit of room compared to my A6 Hobos. I just cannot give up the cream paper of my bujos....I love them so much with my earth tone fountain pen inks. Then, I'm also playing with a Hobo Cousin for 3 years. I think I like the Cousin for work since I keep it professional as possible. I tried minimizing my selections but I love all three. Thank you for sharing and I am team all months in the front...lol.
I also love having the months combined. I tried going back to planners having the month before the weeks and it just felt wrong to me. I ❤ my Weeks and it will be my only planner in 2025. I still haven’t decided on my cover though…decisions decisions!
The color of the paper is not something I would ever really stop and pause over. I mean, hot pink, black, blue - yes, that would be a big problem for me but cream vs white?

I’m so glad! I have often gotten stuck in the trap of all the new things, but this works!!

I liked the Navy too, but the pistachio got me!

I absolutely agree, Sunday is the first day of the week. But I can make this calendar work!
I loved this video! Nothing can beat a weeks for me! It’s such a great book ✨
It’s fabulous!
Hi Sam! Thanks for another great video. I was getting my weeks ready for next week while listening to all the great reasons for my planner❤
Thank you! Have a great week!

Absolutely!!

Travelers company does sell a set of clear pockets and you can also stick them on the sterlingink
The grid being on the left side is still something I wish Hobonichi would do, but for now I’ve come to terms with it. 😅
Hi Sam, agree with all the reasons you love the Hobonichi Weeks - but I really wish the monthly calendar had a Sunday start. I struggle with Monday start so I just end up not using the monthly much.
I used to struggle as well, but something clicked in my brain finally and it’s all good now!!

Most people do notice it, and either love it or hate it.
Have never before seen the Weeks planner that is blue with the hedgehogs on it! What year was it? ❤
2018!
Do you use a stencil for your weather doodles?
Yes! Unfortunately, the shop is closed.
@@samplans oh darn lol
I have a question: are quotes the same every year? XD thank you for the video, I’m gonna try Hobonichi weeks this year!
Nope. Quotes are different every year.
Not that I read many of them, but nope, different!
