this was such a fun watch! my favorite pages were the bedtime spread, the chococat spread and the dandelion snot page. i really adored the idea of that a lot, combining something gross with something beautiful and whimsical. when i was growing up i didn't really know any other sanrio character except hello kitty and chococat because of a watch i got of him from a happy meal back in the 2000's. he definitely holds a special place in my heart. overall, looking over your journal was super sweet and fun. i admired your ability to self reflect on some of the personal things in it and hearing your thoughts about all the pages. i think even the pages that you felt were silly or were sappy and not good poetry were precious and something to be admired of. because you put in the work! be proud of all the progress you made! awesome job with talking about everything in here and keep up the good work!

i totally understand and relate to that ! a hobonichi/any journal or planner like this can be pretty much for anything, which i know isn't a helpful answer but for me i like to put all of the stickers i like in it! i like to do themes, i like to scrapbook with pretty packaging i don't want to throw away. it is also a planner after all, so you can log your appointments/commitments. I like to do that + write or doodle about my life! any small/big thing or memorable thing about your day counts. It's really fun to create themes or make spreads with scrapbooking/stickers that you simply think look nice together! I would also try to see it as something for fun! this was one of the biggest things for me with starting this. I wanted something to stay committed to but also make sure it wasn't pressuring me. honestly, I sometimes treat it as a commonplace book. basically! what you put in it is truly up to you. it's something that is there just for you yk!

Ah this is so cute ! I didn’t have a phone none the less smart phone until I was in my 20s (while I’m older tbh they were available for most my life 😂) so I used a Calendar almost exactly like this ever since primary school and my contacts in the back of them were the same. Also finally some one else who loves chococat! I remember trying to find him everywhere! I had several black cats as a kid on our farm so the idea of a cat being sentient was very appealing 🤷♂️ idk kids are weird. And goodness I’m similar with blind boxes 😅 I only recently got into them. I’ve only ever bought one entire set or two specific ones due to them not being available in America. Now with the popularity of them over the last 10 years of course even in my rather rural area you can get blind boxes at most local stores. If you drive a bit you can get the popular ones. I still only have a few because I’m still needing shelf space for my books 😅

okay...i LOVE spicy food. like LOVE it, love spice, it's my favorite thing...but those Buldak noodles are another level!! i love eating them but they are HOT HOT HOT. lol. love the video, only halfway through it but i just wanted to let you know that i feel the same 😅
I think a good way to improve is to sketch with pen and very quickly. Don’t try to get every detail just follow exactly what you see not what you think you see. It’s helpful to break up each part of the face in simple lines or curves to show the overall shape of the face and facial features. After that go in and fix the outline and features so it’s more accurate. Look at your drawing and the reference photo side by side and find your mistakes, because you drew in pen you can’t erase and the mistakes will be prominent. Take note of these mistakes and implement this the next time you draw. Obviously most importantly you need to be consistent and draw everyday, even if it’s one portrait a day. I would recommend the website line of action where you can set a time limit for each reference and it has a diverse range of angles and faces.
Oh and additionally I think knowing the skull is very helpful. You don’t even have to understand each part and function just know the overall structure of the skull and when you’re drawing a face it makes a lot more sense
