    It's been so long since Esse first showed off the CR3.0(not released yet) that in the time since then, magnacut was released which offers not only really good edge retention but incredible rust resistance👍 It would be absolutely incredible is Esse decided to make the CR3.0 in magnacut instead of S35VN🙏

    Most of the PR4 reviews that I read always comment on the handle, usually negatively. There is even an aftermarket to change the handle! I wish ESEE would offer an alternate handle, or perhaps offer liners added to the current handle to make it slightly thicker.

    Pretty excited about the CR 3.0, it is good to see designs that are made with actual use as a fore thought in the design rather than a footnote. It has got to be tough as a company trying to please so many different people. Many companies tend to cater exclusively to the collector or light use crowds with designs that don't work well for extended field use at all (especially in the folder market). It is good to see offerings that do not compromise purpose for aesthetics.

    • @RandallsAdventureESEE
      @RandallsAdventureESEE 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      we have leaned that it is impossible to build THE KNIFE....the one that EVERYONE likes....we focus on doing what we feel is best and do our best to test them with real dirt time in the field. We make adjustments and go from there. We have a knife set to debut at SHOT Show I am VERY excited about that has been in testing for almost 18mos and have only recently finalized the design.....more on that later.

    I‘m probably in on the 3.0. I carry compact fixed blades every day and I’m constantly looking out for offerings in the 3“ realm. Not much out there that works for defensive applications, when it comes to reverse edge techniques. This I will definitely check out, since it’s the first production knife in a long time, that speaks to me. I‘d probably reshape the tip a little to make it pointier though.

I think if you added an inch to the izula’s cutting edge and quarter inch to the handle you’d have yourself the best edc on the market. S35vn is great steel but I love AEB-L. @GeneHouse 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a Little Pouter from LT Wright in AEB-L. I also have a Smith and Sons Axiom in AEB-L, might be my favorite steel. Strange, as it seems to have relatively the same "toughness" as 1095, stainless as 12c27, and as easy as carbon steel to sharpen. What I really love however, is the ability of AEB-L to acquire a razors edge. The K2 carbide is a dream for thin stock knives - maybe the perfect steel for a small blade edc.

    I love my 2.5. I'm in on a 3.0. I hope the sheath is better than what came with the 2.5 because it useless.

    You should not make a ESEE 6 in 3V because the demand would be so great you would not have enough banks to keep that much money 😎

    The 3.0 knife would be more of a success if the blade itself would be an inch thicker as well as the handle.

    I'm glad they're not going S35VN in larger knives. If they do go with a different steel in those it should be a tool steel. Not stainless but can get better edge retention and maintain toughness. Something like 3V or 4V.

    • @RandallsAdventureESEE
      @RandallsAdventureESEE 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      3v/4v keeps popping up on my radar. I have a larger LTWK in 3v and really like it and I have beat the holy hell out of it just to test it....
