This was the last song in the last concert with Philip Faber in charge of DR Pigekoret. He has decided to move on after ten years in the job. The emotions and tears were not alone due to the beautiful song by Billy Joel, but also due to a chapter in their lives is over. Thanks for the many beautiful performances in the last ten years to Philip Faber and all the young women who have been a part of DR Pigekoret.
For me, this back-story solidifies my kinship with this group of talented singers. Mr. Faber and the choir have every right to hold their heads high and be exceptionally proud of this performance. I hope this is being sung in Heaven because, it is truly worthy...It really warms my heart
This is where this choir shines brightest. It's a fabulous group, but when you take away any accompaniment and have no books in hand, and have them singing like this, no one does it better ❤
I'd have to say, this is the prettiest rendition I've ever heard. Nicely done, ladies. Be very proud of this performance. 50 years from now you will be able to tell your grand children, "yes, we were THAT good!"...Now I must go find some tissues
It breaks my heart when every chapter ends, it feels as if it were the last of all chapters. And yet, the words find another page. Never does the wellspring run dry, always another line to be inked fresh and clear. We are always at the end of the story. Always the end as it hurtles forward, ever and more. Till we flick back the pages and find again the feeling of love, loss, and longing. Never shall we know what the next page holds, for that I am thankful. If I didn’t close my eyes the moment would never end, and I can only miss what has ended. Forever and always my love, yours and no one else’s… Beautiful song ladies, thank you for letting me share in remembering the moments that get away from us
And ... a big thanks to the crew who set up the recording and final mix for this beautiful arrangement of Billy Joel's personal favorite composition. Veerrryy well done. Thanks
Absolutely amazing. Thank you for singing an arrangement that respects the original, while breathing a new life into it. Staggering intonation while processing deep emotions.
I can only imagine being Billy Joel and sitting hear hearing such a beautiful rendition of a song I created. I'm pretty sure he would have some tears falling right now. WOW!! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL😻💗💞
Hats off to the cameramen. Their ability to show the tears of the girls as they sang, what is for some, their final song for the choir. Just completes the beauty of this song and this arrangement of it. Apt that it was a Phillip Faber arrangement.
In every heart there is a room A sanctuary safe and strong To heal the wounds from lovers past Until a new one comes along I spoke to you in cautious tones You answered me with no pretense And still I feel I said too much My silence is my self defense And every time I've held a rose It seems I only felt the thorns And so it goes, and so it goes And so will you, soon, I suppose But if my silence made you leave Then that would be my worst mistake So I will share this room with you And you can have this heart to break And this is why my eyes are closed It's just as well for all I've seen And so it goes, and so it goes And you're the only one who knows So I would choose to be with you That's if the choice were mine to make But you can make decisions too And you can have this heart to break And so it goes, and so it goes And you're the only one who knows Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Billy Joel

We actually weren’t being conducted! It was purely singing together. He made the choice to not conduct sort of giving the choir to the new conductor in a way. We do the same thing for our concerts in the dark, except then of course you can’t even see each other, so it’s purely based on listening to each other breathe and knowing each other and the songs very well:)

No. No, we absolutely do not need male voices to “round out” the angelic perfection of this Danish GIRL’s Choir. What a weird and ridiculous thing to say!
Nice performance, but I don’t care for the arrangement. It’s oddly paced, flat and emotionless. Compare this to the arrangement used by The King’s Singers which can be seen on TH-cam with just the group, and then there is the phenomenal performance the did with the Stay at Home Choir.
