Dual Graph Mount Bracket Build DIY

  • I recently purchased a Garmin 1022 and LiveScope for my jon boat. I already had a Lowrance HDS 9 at the front of my jon boat and needed a way to mount both graphs on the same bracket. For $20 I was able to build a do it yourself DIY dual graph mount in about an hour. If you are on a budget and have a few standard tools, you can build this bracket and have a dual graph/fish finder mount at the bow of your bass boat.

    Like making my boat mine. Made a center console between my seats, added a recessed trolling motor pedal box, put graphic on console and up front. Next comes a upgraded trolling motor. It’s nice to have the ability to make and do what you see in your head. Your boat is your castle!

      Dude, you've made some cool improvements to your boat. It feels good to customize. Good luck with the TM. I love my Ultrex.

    Man....awesome Gabe. Glad those original hole patterns matched, obviously a big help. The lesson is everything and I mean everything adds up, so saving $60-$100 bucks and DIY is very satisfying! Take it easy!

    Procise dek-it mounts makes the perfect mount for stacking graphs when you have a small space to work with, it also comes with an adjustable arm for support. my personnel opinion. I have twin twelves mounted with no issues

    That really turned out nice for such a small space. You could also use a piece of stainless scrap for that. But with all that money in fish finders up front, how about some screen savers to protect your units.

    • @TheTinHorseMonty
      @TheTinHorseMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do need to reinvest in screen savers. I had them before but they dull the image. Of course a 1 oz tungsten weight will dull the image too! Thanks for the tip Jeff

    I think TH marine makes a trolling motor cable sock. I put one on my ultrex. You clip all your ties off except the top and bottom. The sock raps around with full length velcro. The the cable flexs and it will sit on the left side of the foot peddle. You have play with to get there, then once it's on for awhile it loosens up at stays. Give a bit more room. I did it on mine

    Looks good. Nice clean install. Hope it doesn’t move to much in the rough stuff. I have a big ram mount for my console 12 inch HB and it moves even when clamped down tight. Want to go to a rigid mount next time. I have an older boat so will likely have to fabricate my own mount.

    • @TheTinHorseMonty
      @TheTinHorseMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Mags. Time will tell if I need to make some adjustments but so far it's held tight.

  • @tommiks5649
    @tommiks5649 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    DIY looks good. Tight quarters creat challenges for rigging but I'm sure your up to the task. As mentioned already screen protectors are a thing you will want to get just ask Mikey Balzz. He speaks from experience. Good luck on the rest of the install.

    Do you think this would work on the rail by the console? Would I be able to lower the ball so the graphs were straight on so I could see them well ? Thanks for the video !

    • @TheTinHorseMonty
      @TheTinHorseMonty  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It may be a problem in rough water but I'm not sure. My boat only goes 21 MPH so I'm not banging around much. Probably depends on the weight of your graphs too

      @TheTinHorseMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @steveabbott1202
    @steveabbott1202 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sorry Tin. You bring the gimbal mount with two units on Lake Fork on a typical windy early spring day and you won't get more than a few hours before the rough water sends you to the shop.

    • @TheTinHorseMonty

      Honestly, I don't know. I fish small bodies of water and I'm not in big waves. You can mount the same bracket to an over the TM pedal mount and be fine.
