- A set of animated contestants and a loud crowd made the first ever chili eating competition at Chalfest a great occasion. Sponsored by Hot-Headz, the winner got to take home a hamper of chilli prizes including sauces, nuts, snacks and more!

I ate a ghost pepper, next morning I gave birth to the sun...
Pedro blatantly cheated by not finishing the chilies completely and hiding it under the table, he got caught once and it got brushed off.
I have seen a few oddities in Clifton's Chilli Club videos recently, whether certain peppers not available or certain contestants not having to do the same thing (lick sauce up and such)...Not as 100% as they should be.... But it's their channel........
Your point is fair however, this is an edited video of a 25 minute event. Pedro (& others) were made to eat what they hadn't finished, ot just didn't make the final cut. We don't want nor like cheating from contestants. There was a small language barrier on this occasion although this isn't meant as an excuse. Ultimately, we are a small team of people who can't always catch every last action. Whilst the camera picks up on things, the camera operator may be looking along the line to see where to shoot next & therefore miss something. At the end of the day, this is just a bit of fun & entertainment which we try to moderate in real time.
Hi umfan287 we hear what you're saying and as you know not all chillies are available all year round here in the UK. As you'll understand we need enough of one type to run a round so yes we do select different types as this gives a mix of varieties. It would be impossible to have every chilli available in a comp as then there would be 1,000's of rounds etc.
What alot of people do not understand is that when we run one of our comps we are not the only entertained at an event, so we are also restricted with stage time to.
There's alot more that goes on in the background than people think, it's not just what you see in a vid.

@@CliftonChilliClub 1000's of rounds? C'mon man now your insulting me... Check out the "Extreme Hot Wings Eating Challenge Reading Chilli Festival". One dude tore up the people sitting at table and killed his wings. "Dino" sits on the end and eats casually; host even drinks from his milk...... I understand it was a gimmick, "lick the plate", but at 8:07 Dino was instructed all he had to do was "brush his tounge acrossed the plate." Host even stumbled on his own words.......... Not once was the true winner of eating the wings told all he had to do "was brush his tounge acrossed the plate", he was lead to believe he had to lick all sauce off his plate.... Like I said, I understand your "gimmick" and its for entertainment purposes, but "BE FAIR"! I kind of think "Dino" was in on the process...Hence, host drink from his milk.... AND give him instruction.......
Don't get me wrong, I'm a "pepper head", I love watching your pepper eating videos and contests. They should be fair.

I like the way this played out, but honestly the person I thought would win quit rather early to my surprise. Nevertheless it was great entertainment, and as always I'll be looking forward to the next ~! Also, thank you to the CCC who do a lot of work running these contests~!

I tried Carolina reaper chicken wings......could only eat 2 me guts went in the middle of the night. ....my brother ate 6 and had to take the next day off work....😈😈😈

Scotch bonnet is where the heat starts getting real
My mom cook some meat and veggies she put Scotch bonnet spice in it and that dish is only for her but when I give it a spoonful taste. I sweat immediately! Started coughing and red eye. I don’t even want to imagine eating a ghost pepper or Carolina reaper

the last one was a Bullhorn Chilli, very mild chilli indeed. We have them regularly because their mild spice goes nicely with sweet capsicum and tomato.

The winner threw his stems under the table the whole time. Rules are all pepper gone. Only stem. Then place in front of you. I seriously doubt made any difference one legit and I wish I could do that.
