Currently doing level 6 and have been mixing in the deaf community for sometime now. I always struggle to understand why a parent wouldn’t learn to sign. I’ve met deaf adults whose parents never learned and they can’t communicate with mum or dad properly. It’s very sad. Your mum is a star.
@@M1kadrawsalot there are some sources online like channels or websites, bsl dictionary for specific words ur looking for also theres a sign of the day website where it shows a different sign everyday, a good yt channel is commanding hands, there's also bsl with Mel, learning with bsl, if u search on yt ull find some more too
its amazing that your mum was willing to learn bsl to communicate with you as not many people's parents are willing to do so and ofc there may be reasons but often they'd prefer their child to verbally communicate with them and they think that bsl is not useful..... Hopefully in the future it changes tho
@@JazzyWhipps could your mum share her story about her learning journey? Adults often find it difficult to learn a new language; I wonder how she got over the hard parts of it &)
seriously weekday kind of ? is that, by now your parents should know full bsl not oral, i believe if a loving deserving parent has deaf or coda child they should NO MATTER WHAT learn to teach and learn sl, not stick em to school and not be on same page to teach/learn etc
