I recently got the mt10 2019 model, with 7k miles and payed £9000 for it, it’s in very good condition, I’m honestly enjoying this bike but like you said the fuel is absolutely crazy, I fill up 4x a week

I wish they would've kept the old headlight. The new one isn't ugly but it's almost a deal breaker-- something that we will be forced to like.

New one definitely. R1 technology in it, plus improved power/consuption ratio, and much more what the old one doesn't have.

As for titanium…. Pretty sure the case was, R1’s have the titanium conrods etc and MT10’s (irrespective of generation) have steel. Additionally R1’s have aluminum engine cover bolts and MT10’s have steel. I’ve owned both R1 and MT10 and can confirm this.

Hi mate - I just read an article on the mt10 engine and what’s new…. Forged aluminium pistons have been utilised, matched to direct-plated cylinders, all of which is done to help boost efficiency. Steel conrods are also used (not titanium items as per the R1) while the cranks' weight and balance, along with the fuel injection system, has been tweaked for that chunky mid-range. Hope this is helpful 🙌

Thanks for the vid. Like the new model better just more money 😉
Any chance you can do a walk around of your bike? Looks like your've changed the mirrors and sticker on fuel filler any other mods? I need to get a test ride on one, currently on a 2017 Triumph SPD3R.👍🇦🇺

Yes I’ll do a walk around video very soon! I would advise anyone to go test ride one as they’re so much fun! Also cheap considering what you are getting or compared with other supernakeds!

I liked my gen one. But it wasn’t quite right for me. I was on the bandwagon for better brakes. And I wished I sat more in the bike instead of the feeling of sitting on top of it. It’s a awesome bike. It was close to being perfect. The gen 2 looks a little closer. But idk if I’d pull the trigger on the new one

Apparently the SP comes with Yamahas most sophisticated electric suspension yet and even better brakes so could be worth going for! Out of my budget!

I have the 2017 Mt10 SP i will be keeping unti. the 3rd gen comes out i hate the looks of the gen 2. I dont think it will be too long before the 3rd gen comes out as the new Mt09 isnow out with all then ew switch gear and electronics.

Good video, I just picked up my bike in July, Honestly I sourced the last 2021 model available ( New ) very good deal with 5 year manufacture warranty, My decision was based on the look of the bike, With that being said if I were planning to leave it stock I’d likely went with the 22, But I build my bikes so the minor upgrades for the 22 are quickly bypassed within that process. What you get from the CP4 out of the box and it’s true capability is extraordinary,

Previous gen sounded better, and made a lot more sound. However the 2022 has a smoother, quieter engine. Still sounds good but you have to ride it a lot harder to hear it. 2022 has real air take ducts instead of fake.... I would pick it just for that reason alone - haha. But the new electronics are the real treat. A bike of this output level benefits from advanced electronics, especially when ridden fast on slick surfaces. My 22 is sucking fuel at about 35 MPG (US) during break in. So when I really get on it, I don't see how it is likely to be any better than my old one. Fueling is still a little fluffy down low. Not too bad on setting 3, but still room for improvement.

Yes it does seem quiet until you really get going through the gears, I have an exhaust on the way which will decat the bike so hopefully it will sound lovely once on! Yes the new six axis imu is great 👍 I’ll be getting the bike mapped so hopefully that will smooth out the fuelling if any discrepancies are found on the standard map 🙌

The old MT10 had an upright seating position. Are you more leaned forward on the new one ?

    • @calsbike17
      @calsbike17  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I test rode the gen 1 twice, it does feel different to ride from what I can remember…the seating position feels more sporty - whether that’s because of the extra 10mm ride height on the rear I’m not sure. I wonder whether the rear set heights have been changed as well. Would need to ride them both back to back to tell for sure. I’ll see if I can soon and upload a video 👍

Definitely new one is alot better electronic dash n brakes now standard version or sp?

The brakes come with the Brembo master cylinder standard now and also the updated colour dash 👍

@@calsbike17 yep I took standard version for few hr demo noticed the brembo master cylinder on front n rear just surprised they scrimped on steel lines only for sp. Was really impressed with standard version gotta try sp see worth extra cash only 4k more in Australia electronic suspension could be worth it.

@@brookdow the electronic suspension is a game changer. I had my old 10 set fairly hard for sporty riding but the flip side of that was it was very harsh 9n rough back roads, but the electronic suspension is a dream. Soft and plush for rough or cruisy roads and then straight to hard mode when you get to the twisties.

    • @FadilKarim

I believe that is only because they switched to a 44T rear sprocket which you can easily put on the old one. They didn't make the engine itself more efficient.
