ARK: Survival Evolved - How to Build a Castle - Valguero Castle keep Design (Speed Build)

- I have built the Castle Keep for my Valguero Chalk Hills Castle series.
In this How to build a Castle Tutorial, I have built a Medieval castle with Stone and Wood.
There is a massive staircase leading to the main entrance, the roof is surrounded with battlements and there is a small tower that houses staircases to access each level.
Inside the Keep, I have built a drinking hall a small barracks and a large production area and workshop with two industrial forges.
The Ark Genesis DLC brings new structures to the game along with a whole host of new dinos.
I can not wait to get building in the new Genesis Biomes and you can look forward to some of the best Ark Genesis base designs on The Pilgrimz Project channel :)
I am going to make some 'Best base location on Genesis' videos as well because my Ragnarok and Valguero videos have done quite well.
In this tutorial, there are a lot of Ark building ideas and building tips that can be used on your own base designs.
This base was built on official settings with no mods so it can be built on Ark Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
Ark Survival Evolved has amazing building mechanics, there are endless ways to design and build your base.

That was great, the whole series was one of the best I have seen as it gives step by step instructions that allows me to change it if I want, looking forward to any more builds you do.

Awesome build but you need a mat list and you need to label things a little better just spent a week building this on official (not lvl ground) to find out I had it backwards and have to redo most of it one little tip on the foundation blue print front back would have been amazing

Yeah I have done some really in-depth tutorials in the past I am just trying to find a good balance of showing the build prosses and not having videos that last for hours :)
@@ThePilgrimzProject ya it definitely helps, I dont mind long videos though but that's just me, I've used quite a few of your builds on my primitive server. I'm absolutely about to build this keep for our community center.

I finally finished this castle.. it took me 3 days to build on pve, but it made our base top 1 on server, thanks to you!

Hiya Unicorn Thanks :) this has turned into a great little town build I am going to move around Valguero and build towns in different biomes. I am a bit stuck for space here atm but I havent pushed the game too far in terms of fps and lag so I think I will find a new spot. The foundations worked out well :) I wanted a roof 4 wide and a parapet around the whole place it was a lucky thing the triangle foundations along the side lined up nice

Love this but making mine bigger and using a behemoth door and building at the center in ark ascended so the I'm having to adjust on walls and flooring but so far coming together nicely ty for the inspiration

I just got done building my version of this. Was great inspirational and learning material.
This is an amazing build! It is very thoughtfully laid out. I love seeing your thought process! One thing to keep in mind from a design standpoint would be to remember that castles and big structures took lifetimes to construct. Think of a castle as a mini ark. Tons of structures built up around it during it's construction, and many more that followed, being the safest place around. Storefronts and housing came and went or was pushed out. Rooms repurposed half a century later. If you want to add a touch more personality to your design, give it a history. Can't speak highly enough of this though!
This is a great build, I did it on the island official legacy servers (slight modifications and on pillars) and will be again on crystal isles

@@Dewoy1 no m8 I literally write down all the structures and then get counting, boring stuff but it helps people out :)

On top of that where did you find such a good clearing in the highlands like what are the cords
I typically avoid putting stairs over triangles because they never line up appropriately... idk how you made it work

Hey, really like your build. Was trying to recreate part of it for a build I'm working on. For some reason I can't get fence foundations to snap to triangle foundations. Do you know if this is an issue with S+ specifically? It looks like in your build that you are using the base game pieces and not S+

That's a good idea, I am planning a bunch of small towns over the whole map and making a trading Bronto or paracer platform for each one would be cool

well I wanted too say I like this layout for this base so too me this is a rendition of your castle build its close but I need a place too park my quetzals so I modified it I play on x box and like too get some pictures when it done everything was gather by my dinos and crafted no items being spawned in and it's a little wider but I want too say a lot taller but it too some time I've been work about a week on it here and there I don't know if you can look at screen shots on xbox but as soon as I get the outside complete I will get them up so you can take a look if you like thanks for the help

I have a maxed level dodic I use 10 k in weight think my gathering at 4 times just so I can build but I filled him up 3 times so far not counting my beaver and moose and a couple ankys yep I run around fill them all up then I come back and craft a ton of stuff I don't need and make extra work for myself lol
oh and I also hit max blocks in the area so I tore about 1/4 the height down went a little low just too get one piece on my bird houde that's not too far away but I think it still looks good
@@eddiejohnson3458 Cool I use to drag a paracer around with me and construct walls and other structures so it uses up the materials and you can keep farming until hes full

What is that thing at 36:53? And how do I make it? It looks like 2 campfires stacked onto of 2 stone railings.. but I cant get it to work..
Don't think the triangle off another triangle while placing the single doorway and then placing the railing so it sits on the outside of the single doorway so it imitates castle tips trick works on official.
Really? When you place the door frame you have to hit E to flip it so the wood beams are facing out and that will set it back enough that the Railing will snap to the triangle ceiling.
You have to flip the Railing and press Q so it jumps to the triangle ceilings snap point, not too sure of the console buttons.
It takes some manoeuvring but should be possible on official

im having a hard time with placing fence foundations, I think it is because I have to eyeball them to line up where you have them, is there a downfall of not using them?

Thanks :) I just see speed builds getting thousands of views and I can spend a week editing and doing a full tutorial and they hardly get watched. I am doing more tutorials again though just trying to find a good balance. Sorry for the late reply
@@ThePilgrimzProject Should consider doing this as a normal regular tutorial. trying to build anything is hard when it's a speed build.
Do you know how many of each material you used for this like how many stone foundations walls etc

For this area yeah, there are two areas where supply drops land and the ground around them has a block from building.
I am going to a really flat area that I found and I will continue to build in this style and start a new town.

How do you get those triangular stone foundations?
They came with the Homestead update a while back you may need to get the engram for them

Already :) lol cool did you use the same spot on Valguero? you can not build around the area where the supply drop lands next to the cave. I am kinda stuck for room around there now so I am going to move on to a new area but still build for a castle town
