You don't need creative mode to allow collisions. As long as you're not on official servers, you can enable collisions by editing your Game.ini settings and still play normally

The part at the end where you place the stone railings on the temp ceilings is heart breaking. I broke SO many god damn glass windows trying to get it to work, doubled the cost of crystal for the build lol. In the end I just decided to leave them out for my mental health.

It was breaking the stone double door frames for me. I also just gave up in this detail. My glass is overlapping big time too. Not sure how this build god lines glass up so well. In this game I'll toggle to a snap point but it places differently. So frustrating.
@@xombiemike my first attempt at building this today (without the mods on). I struggled so bad to get all the resources and the same thing happened to me. My stone double door frames all fell apart when I went to put the glass walls up, couldn’t put the second layer of stone walls on the outside, the stone railing on top of the thatch destroyed two of my glass walls so couldn’t put those either. 🥹🥹🥹 I mean it looks pretty and all still but damn was almost more trouble than it was worth 😅 lol

Great guide! **🛠 I figured out three improvements to this build:**
**1. When you place the pillars around all sides of the building at **3:00**, you should rotate the pillars so that they always face squarely towards the lines in the floor. The lines I am talking about are the connections between the triangle and square floor pieces. Align your pillars so they always squarely face towards that. This makes the building look better than in the video. Because the video's pillars are rotated all randomly.**
**2. At **4:35** when you start placing crop plots on the catwalks, do this instead: First place a pillar in the center of the room and then a ceiling on it, so you have something to stand on. Then, look towards all the catwalks and place ladders at the tip of each catwalk (the part where they face the center of the room). Next, you simply climb on top of a ladder, and then while you are still on the ladder, place the crop plot (while you are in 3rd person view and have hidden the ARK GUI). This ensures that it becomes 100% centered and rotated properly. You can even use the ladder as a visual guideline so that you place every crop plot identical distances out from the catwalk ledge. (You do not use the "orbital/selfie camera" trick, since that prevents placing the crop plot. You use the normal camera. Being on the ladder is enough to ensure that the placement cannot strafe/rotate in the wrong directions!)**
**3. At **8:48** when you place the door, I realized that the two pillars on each side of the door actually just look horrible. They are not centered equally, so one pillar covers more of its side of the door, than the other pillar. It makes the glass door look wonky as hell. Also, whenever you open the glass doors, they poke through the pillars. It's so bad. I decided to remove those two pillars at the sides of the door and decorate that differently instead. It's safe to delete those pillars. The house won't collapse!**

I usually don't like having to "read" info from a video, seems counterintuitive...but somehow you have managed to hit that sweet spot through editing, that keeps eyes glued to the screen. Concise and to the point, visual and written demonstration, without saying a word. Well done. It is not easy to present information this way, most of the time a simple vocal explanation is the most efficient, but you sir have a talent. Great videos and awesome builds in Ark!

i built this 2 years ago on a vanilla server. today i built it in my modded solo game using the Castles, Keeps, and Forts: Science fiction mod, and it came out amazingly!!
Just a tip if you’re struggling with the wooden fence foundations, you have to pick up the stone foundation and place it in a different angle and try it again, If it still isn’t working pick it up again and stand in a different angle, I promise it works you just have to find the right angle lol

Hey, I LOVE this build. I just wanted to comment about the fence foundation and the double walls. I struggled with that part of the build. Maybe throw in some tips for amateurs like myself? My bf had to show me the different snaps and so on to get the double walls.

Hi Aaron, I've been a fan of your build style for awhile, and I've followed many of your How To's. One thing I keep hoping for is another How To Greenhouse Build. I need a massive veggie farm for my zoo, and the smaller octagonal greenhouses just aren't producing enough for me. I was hoping you'd do another build, this time on a much larger scale, with room for 44 large plots, some storage, and room for the industrial cooker, and of course, 300% GH effect! Thanks again for continuing to provide awesome Ark builds!
I always look up ark tutorials on here and click on whatever looks good and somehow it's always one of your videos lol. I usually play xbox official PvP but I have some friends on pve so I hop over there to build and tame a little and my whole neighborhood is all your builds haha

I did this in metal and tek crop plots with a tek generator, it brought a tear to me eye.
Love the greenhouse, great tutorial but i think it should be a higher difficulty simply because ark snap points are not the friendliest. Word of advise for anyone trying to build this : use the thatch ceiling + railing 1 by 1 then pick them up, easier to notice the snap point and correct :)
I don't think I'll be able to do this one. I've gone thru 150 walls trying to get the last 6 snapped. Shows it's gonna snap where it should then it changes when execute. Medieval stronghold was easier. Whoddathunk
Forgot to mention I'm on official. I finally got walls down! I put a thatch foundation outside then walls snapped.
The stone pillars are breaking every time I try to snap the railings
They are breaking when I try to add windows and only 3 walls let me put the double sided stone walls. Idk what I did differently I've lifted the walls the foundations the fence foundations repeatedly. Thank God I'm admin and don't have to get more materials for thr mistakes because this is starting to not be worth trying anymore.
@@Persephone549 wish i could help more, but in many hrs of ark i learned that the snap points are broken to the point where you see one snap point and the thing snaps to another. Especially painful on roofs.
What you can do is pay attention that you actually hit the snap point for the external wall /railing -> the added roof. If you did and you're sure 100% but it still snaps to wrong position, take another building piece and snap it outside the build, come back and try again. And also make sure the color and height of the building piece are matching your orientation
I love this design!
You make it all look so easy.
Tip: Press q to switch the stone wall between sides of the fence foundation, and E to flip it. Also placing the last outer ring of foundations first will give you a better angle without fly cheats to get the flips easily. Being on the ground below the foundations makes it harder.

Fyi taps have a range of about 5 or 6 foundations. Placing 1 tap in the middle would probably be enough. Build a bigger version of this, 5 walls high with 1 tap on the 2nd floor. Whole greenhouse is irrigated. Also walls and ceilings do not affect the taps range.

I know its been a while, but he said he doesn't usually do that because he mainly plays on Primitive Plus, where there are more decorative things, but I understand your pain and I wish he did that too :/

I solved the whole double wall and wood fence issue (at least for me):
Work opposite of what you think. When it looked like I was about to place something inside my existing wall and demolish it, it actually placed it perfectly. when it looked like it would be placed outside, it jumped and demolished my wall. So whatever looks good when you have the green "preview", it's incorrect XD at least on PC for me.
Whatever looked like it would place it on the closer side to me, it placed it further away.
So when it looked good, I clicked Q and it was right inside the existing wall, then E to reverse and woila!

@@aowin5022 bro I ended up using reverse psychology 😂 I would highlight the area I didn’t want it to snap and I would end up snapping in the spot I wanted.. it was a hell of a battle with that

this build made me almost cry, i tried building it on a ceiling instead of foundation, and it went so horribly, I just wanna curl up and cry ;-;
I built it on pillars and ceilings and it worked, must have missed something. One of my big mistakes I made the first time building this was not snapping my top ceilings to the outer wall. This caused alignment issues with the roof. Also the wooden fence foundations possibly can get snapped wrong.

Totally love this. But i want to build it up high on my balcony so im wondering is there a way to place foundations above the ground? Or do you have another idea to make my dream happen? :D
If you have a square building and want to put a hexagon (or other) shape on top you can build one wall up, make the shape you want with ceilings then build walls down around it. Take out the first wall and your greenhouse/turret/spire should be supported by the new perimeter walls. Of course due to the...um...nuances of ARKs building system I have had trouble with this in the past. If you can manage it, integrating the initial wall in to the build is much safer! Be aware 2 triangles does not make 1 square so things won't line up past that initial wall.

Make sure to use Sloped Thatch Wall Right for the ceiling. whenever I used left, it caused the glass to break. (not using s+)
That sloped roof thing is something that seriously needs to be addressed in the base game. It's annoying as hell and can really limit what you can do with your roof line. Also, I find there are situations where a sloped roof is more useful as a ramp then actual ramps. When you get close to the ground, you can't do that anymore because you can't place a sloped wall without something to hold it up.

This is a great build. However do not be mislead by the title. Some of the things shown do not work with S+ Structures (Or maybe I am just stupid), took me a while to figure it all out.
So here is what you can NOT use S+ Versions of: Fence Foundations (They only snap at the edge), Stone Walls (Can't place 2 so close), Thatch slope right (When you use S+ you cannot demolish it. If you do all on top crumbles), Greenhouse Sloped Roofs (The s+ once just don't snap right) and the Double Door frame (this just looks bad).
Snapping the Walls properly was a pain. I demolished so many by accident. Make a few more when you build this.
Also for some Reason I couldn't snap at the last ceilings at the very Top. I used a glass Roof as workaround, made it see through and no boarder, then I snapped to that. Worked great.
If you are using S+ as well I recommend using the boarderless crop plots and use the triangle as well as the square once, looks great in the house.
edit for simplicity. The problem your having is. This is a video of him using the S+ structures added in the homestead update to the official game. It's not a video of him using the S+ addon. Just the new additions from S+ on the base game. The problems your having are exclusive to the addon, i was able to replicate this on normal server without S+ (even though it took a lot of breaking and rebuilding)
The first song makes me feel like exploring, like seeing something new. It makes me feel like there is a whole world of possibility out there.
To the people having issues with getting the top placed.... if you are useing S+ that's the issue, make the normal ones and it'll work fine. :)

I tried to use angled roof instead of the flat ones, it looked cool but i could not attach the triangle pieces. there were no snap points...why would that be?
How did u get the pillars to snap to the corners? Mine only dose it in the middle.
Ps4 version! So I got my fence supports and I can place some but then others not, I press triangle to switch them and I can place them, but then when I try to do the stone walls on top, they can't both fit in there, any way to remedy this? My buddy really wants a place for crops and I really want it to be fancy and collecting resources at this point is absolutely ridiculous
how do you snap the greenshouse walls on the INSIDE? I cant get it to work right without demolishing the double door frame...

I can't get 2 wooden fence foundations snapped into the correct place on my triangle foundations because it says it's obstructed but nothing is there? Any tips please and thank you

Are those s+ fence foundation? there is no snappoint on triangle foundations
