About the show:
The nationwide search for the next superstar kicked off in August as the Idol Bus traveled covering 23 cities across the country. Auditioning was made easier than ever as hopefuls also had the opportunity to submit audition videos online as well as via select social media platforms using an official tag The Next Idol cultivating over 300,000 posts. Also for the first time in “American Idol” history hopefuls had the opportunity to audition through a livestream platform.
Helping to determine who America will ultimately vote for to become the next singing sensation are music industry forces and superstar judges Luke Bryan Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Host and producer Ryan Seacrest will return as host of the beloved series.

On American idol he would rock back and forth while he sang, like he was shielded from all the bad things in the world and it showed his innocence. He doesn't do that here and I miss that about him. Still enjoy watching him.

Don’t know why Michael didn’t win. He’s a winner in my eyes. He was constant throughout the whole show.
Are you kidding me? Look at the awkward fidgeting and bobbing he is doing during a professional performance. It is not professional by any means and he acts immaturely for his age. He simply was not ready professionally for the American Idol stage. That is why he did not win.

He's good no doubt. And so he didn't win There's an old saying, when one door closes, another will open. Remember Jennifer Hudson. She lost on idol, but won an Oscar for Dream girls. And now playing, Miss Aretha Franklin, in the movie Respect. As Jennifer said about losing American idol, she still had her voice. So, I hope he feels the same. God Bless.

I’m a huge Yolanda fan and I think she holds back most of the time when she does duets but not this time. She was definitely not holding back! Maybe she wanted him to give it his all. It was her way of pushing him . He’s a good singer!

This is difficult to watch. This guy is moving awkwardly on stage. Yolanda Adams is standing professionally poised while singing. That is why he did not win.
This is exactly why Michael didn't win, this music just doesn't sell to the majority of America. The vocals are amazing and on point but the performance is just so redundant and boring.
