  • This video will tell you how to travel Barcelona in 2023; consider this your ultimate Barcelona travel guide! We will cover where you should stay, how to get around, what to eat, what to do, and some exclusive local recommendations!
    Where to stay
When choosing your accommodation in Barcelona, definitely do your best to stay within the city. The only downside of accommodation right in the city is that it is not the cheapest. Hotels can be found starting around $80-$150/night. If you want to save some money on a hotel, you can stay outside the city; make sure you are next to a metro line to make it easy to come into the city every day!
    How to get around
Barcelona is a super easy city to get around; the metro system is pervasive and goes throughout the entire city! There are also numerous underground tunnels connecting the lines, so it is super seamless even when you have to transfer! They offer single-use, day passes, and ten trip passes! I recommend buying the T-10 card, which includes ten trips unless you plan to ride more than five times per day. It occurred to me that some of you may have never used public transit before coming to Europe. If you want me to make a video explaining the best way to navigate cities, let me know in the comments below!
    What to eat
Barcelona is known for having a lot of fantastic food. The #1 thing you need to try while you are here is a tapas bar. In some authentic ones pre 2020, you can fill your plate up with food, eat it, save your tooth picks until the end, and bring them to the register to pay!
    What to do
There’s a lot to do in Barcelona, as always I recommend starting with a free walking tour to get an understanding of where everything is in the city. After you finish, one of the major attractions you should check out is La Sagrada Familia. It is a famous church designed by Antoni Gaudí; it has been under construction since 1882 and is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
After Sagrada Familia, come to visit the Arc de Triumph. The second of the three arches throughout Europe that we have talked about. The others are located in Paris, France, and Bucharest, Romania. This Arc was built in 1888 and was originally constructed as the entrance for the world fair that took place right in this square! Unfortunately, this is the only one out of the three that the top is not open to the public, but you can still enjoy the views from the square!
Next, you should take a stroll down La Rambla, possibly the most famous street in Barcelona! It’s designated for pedestrians and goes on for about 1km long. The water in Barcelona is very safe to drink, so feel free to help yourself with the numerous drinking fountains on the sidewalks! However, you should be very cautious walking down this street, since so many tourists come here it’s known for being one of the #1 streets for pickpockets around Europe!
Also, make sure to check out the gothic quarter, an area of Barcelona known for its medieval architecture and narrow streets! During the day, you can enjoy watching live street performers, and when the night rolls around, join the locals drinking in these historic bars!
Lastly, you should make sure to check out Parc Guell, which Antoni Gaudi designed just like la Sangra Familia. The park was originally designed to be a housing estate; however, once the first house went up for sale, no one wanted to buy it, so the Gaudi eventually purchased it for himself! I recommend coming here around sunset and taking in the glorious views of the city! Make sure to buy your tickets online, the parc used to be free, but due to current restrictions, they have started charging €10 to limit the number of people.

Typically if you can find an outlet in a cafe they will let you use it, but finding an outlet is definitely a challenge. If your battery isn't the best, I would recommend bringing a power bank with you!
