Thanks ---always like to try new burgers. Looks like they are just going back to the locomoco burgers they had out in previous years though... Oh well, Mos has some interesting stuff out now at least ;)
as always: loved the driving at the beginning - great sky! - and the short walk through the supermarket was fun too :-) Glad that at least one of the burgers was to your tasting and I totally understand you when wanting a "real" burger at a burger place. Everything else is fun for once in a while but ...
Exactly. I do eat a lot of promo burgers and limited items, so always enjoy a real burger tasting burger ;) The new stuff Ronald released was just the same old locomoco burgers they've done a few times already. Maybe they had leftover stock or something ;)
Hey Paul! Those burgers looked decent. Wish those were available stateside. Would love to see more limited editions here than just the standard fare!! Have a great weekend!
Here it is really hard to keep up with all the changes they come out with, but sometimes they do like to recycle old ideas as though they were new... ;)
I like the new close ups of the sandwiches and your music choices are always great. The teriyaki burger with cheese is an abomination. The peppered sausage looked interesting. Our daughter thought the regular ebi filet-o was okay, so adding sweet chili sauce might make it even better.
Thanks so much. Trying to keep things interesting by mixing up the music when I can. And yeah, I agree the sauce would have made the ebi really good, I'm sure. I liked the normal one much better than the teriyaki mcburger ;)
I like the sound of the peppered sausage and I also like teriyaki but I can't seem to imagine what that would taste like on a burger!! Great review Paul!! :)
"It's still to me...a terrible burger". hahah quite funny. For me, the sausage double cheeseburger does seem to look better (maybe not the bun), but it is an interesting concept for sure. Great Video!
Thanks for the vid! Looked tasty! Is sausage pretty common in Japan or is it typically like a pork patty similar to this? Lot of drink options there at the end!! Hope you aren't having any issues with all of that flooding!
If you mean something more like a breakfast sausage, neither are common actually. I think it probably just had to be this shape to fit on the burger. Interesting that they chose this to begin with, but it did work I guess ;)
Yeah, I was a little startled when I noticed she had been watching... Just hope she wasn't the mother of one of my students and she actually recognized me ;)
I lived in Japan in the 90's and loved the Teriyaki McBurger especially in October when you could get the Tsukimi Burger (Moon Viewing Burger) which was the Teriyaki McBurger with an egg on it to represent the moon. I miss Japan!
They still do that, and I know a lot of people love it. KFC now does a great chicken sandwich for tsukimi! I also like McDonald's when they do teriyaki chicken.... but somehow I just can't stand their pork patties... :(
Some Jack-in-the-Box restaurants used to make teriyaki chicken bowls. I'm not sure any of them still do. There was a KFC near the school where I used to teach and it had a statue of Col. Sanders out front. I chuckled when I got a good look at it and realized he had been given Asian eyes! I used to love walking around the corner to Lawson to grab stuff for lunch or to Seven Eleven in the winter for Oden. (I was pretty shocked the first time I saw a Lawson store in Japan especially since they had practically disappeared in the states.) There was also a Mister Donuts next to my school and I always got the Curry-filled donuts :-)
Great review there 👌. Id probably try the double cheese burger\sausage one lol. Hopefully McDonalds Japan will come out with something crazy next lol. Keep the yummies coming 👍.
Looks like you have been in a rough fight with that teriyaki burger - you had an exhausted expression on your face after tasting it 😂 Loved the music on this video 👌
Thanks. I've faced off with the Teriyaki McBurger a few times... always hoping it will be good because there are many people who actually do like it... I guess I am just not one of them ;)
I enjoy finding a review of yours I previously missed. Agree, pork patty with teriyaki is just weird. “Sausage” looks like thin sliced deli meat. Glad it was tasty. Finally, I was blown away by the variety of drinks available at the supermarket.
Haha, thanks. And yeah, that is a pretty standard selection at the supermarket ---some of them are variations on the same thing but there is still plenty to choose from
Do not be deceived ;) But yeah, I know some people love it, I just can't stand the terrible pork patty that Ronald uses on it. His teriyaki chicken creations have been really good in the past though
That is true. And their new campaign is pretty boring too... it's a rehash of something they have done at least 3 or 4 times in the recent past, the locomoco burger :(
I think I’m with you when it comes to teriyaki on beef rather than chicken. Tried it at home once cause I was out of ketchup. Never again lol The double cheeseburger 🍔 looked really good though! And maybe that lady thought you were cuckoo!! 🤪 Great review as always & thank you! 😎😊👍
Thats a skinny sausage. More like a cold cut, Nice stuff Paul keep it up fella. You seem like a fella who u could enjoy a beverage and a good chat with.
Yeah, definitely not a patty. Now that I think about it, I'm not really a fan of Ronald's sausage patties anyhow. You know, the ones on his breakfast muffins... So this was probably perfect for me ;)
Critical Eats Japan see I am in the UK and I like the Sausage patty's but there could be a difference in patty's, I was in Florida a couple of years back and never managed to get a sausage muffin to compare.
Interesting to see the promos McDs have there, We tend to get USA promo burgers where they make a burger according to the state being promoted. I like burgers in Bagels, thats my new thing now, and In a supermarket here they sell cheese sliced for bagels.
Yeah they are round with the hole in the middle too like a bagel. They have different varieties as well, such as, cheese with chilli, cheese with black pepper, cheese with chive and onion. they all go well with a burger or chicken burger. ;)
It has been a solid item on the menu for sure, so there is definitely an audience for it... For me, the only pork patty burger I've liked from Ronald was ginger pork one...
Oh wow! Last time we had a Big Mac sale here I ordered 21 and had an eating contest with 2 of my friends... I then boycotted McDonald's for about 4 years... ;)
Yeah, I guess so. I know we have a good ramen aisle too, but our breakfast cereal aisle pales in comparison to those in the US ;) I think I walked away with a Pepsi...
She was just parked there waiting for the light and happened to notice me there. I've eaten at this place before but never parked right up near the road like that. Hope she was entertained ;)
The first time I heard the term "American cheese" I though it must be some sort of amazing or wonderful cheese, but then I found out it was just a processed cheese slice and was like, what?
Awwwww Paul! I’m sorry that your burgers weren’t to your liking. The buns on both looked pretty questionable. There’s nothing worse than a stale bun. ☺️ Bummer that you couldn’t get a hold of the ebi filet. The picture of it looked pretty good. Thanks for sharing! Our McDonald’s menus are so boring. Bleh!
Definitely ---that was the stalest bun I had ever had on any burger. I probably should have picked up the normal ebi burger even though it didn't have the promotional sauce, but oh well, maybe they'll do another. You gotta be fast here or these promotions are often gone before you know it ;) You may have more customizable options than we do at least, no?
I could have ordered the ebi one straight, but they didn't have the sauce for it, and since I've tried it before I didn't bother this time. At least it's good to know it was popular I guess
People do like it, but I think for me it's mainly my problem with McDonald's pork patties... the only one that was decent was the ginger pork burger... ;)
Yeah, as you know, it's always best to avoid parking around other people, but sometimes it can't be helped or a situation like this occurs. I'm starting to hate the in-car review more for the summer heat than anything else these days though... ;)
You talking burger diaper, right? Well, they did have a partial diaper, but I took them out to get the closeup shot and just didn't bother putting them back ;)
Thanks for a great review! I'd never imagine putting a slice of sausage in a burger, haha. Does McDonald's in Japan have sweet potato fries? We got them here recently and they're pretty good.
Is this a reference to the nikunikuniku burger that Mos occasionally has where the buns are replaced with more meat patties? Or maybe just because it is called the Ura Menu... ;)
I know a lot of people do love it. I just don't like the pork patty that they make it with... However, when they make teriyaki burgers with chicken they are usually really good...
You are the only person I have heard of that does not like teriyaki sauce on pork or beef either one. There are teriyaki places all over around here and Teriyaki Pork then Beef are their best sellers
McDonald's pork patty is just terrible. They try to hide that fact by smothering it in teriyaki sauce, but even when they use it in other creations it's really bad...
@@CriticalEatsJapan That may be true there, but I am just saying real beef or pork teriyaki is loved by millions of us. Fortunately around here Mac does not serve pork patties except for the breakfast sausage and it leaves much to be desired
Yeah, real pork is way better than what Ronald is serving. They even had a burger called the McPork that didn't last long ---that said, we also had the McRib here a few years back that was pretty decent... a little different though
Everybody knows fresh is better! And of course they do always make it to order... But I'm guessing this place has less traffic so maybe it was just a day old bun...
Great review Paul. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks ---always like to try new burgers. Looks like they are just going back to the locomoco burgers they had out in previous years though... Oh well, Mos has some interesting stuff out now at least ;)

The Teriyaki McBurger is a popular item here... though I'm not a fan no matter how they dress it up... :(
great review Paul, thanks
"It's still to me...a terrible burger". hahah quite funny. For me, the sausage double cheeseburger does seem to look better (maybe not the bun), but it is an interesting concept for sure. Great Video!
Yeah, I don't know what was up with that bun... but I did choose the location based on the fact it might get less traffic, so... ;)
Man I wished we had the selections like guys have over in Japan. Lot's of unique foods over there.
They keep changing things up here and it is kinda hard to keep up ;)
Thanks for the vid! Looked tasty! Is sausage pretty common in Japan or is it typically like a pork patty similar to this? Lot of drink options there at the end!! Hope you aren't having any issues with all of that flooding!

Thank for the video Paul!!! Nothing like someone watching u eat!! Lmbo
No. I was referring to the women that was watching him eat from the car. I just support Paul. Thanks
Yeah, I was a little startled when I noticed she had been watching... Just hope she wasn't the mother of one of my students and she actually recognized me ;)
That would be funny.

What I like about you Paul is that you tell it as it is. If it's a terrible burger, you're not afraid to say so.
Thanks ---it's hard though because I often try things I want to in anticipation of them being good... ;)
Yum the teriyaki McBurger with white cheddar sounds wonderful Paul 😍 the double cheeseburger with peppered sausage looks ok too. I’m hungry now.
Haha, it's all yours... ;) I know it is popular, but it's just not for me...
That teriyaki burger looks delicious man!
Do not be deceived ;) But yeah, I know some people love it, I just can't stand the terrible pork patty that Ronald uses on it. His teriyaki chicken creations have been really good in the past though
great video👍👍where did you live before japan?
I lived in Vancouver before I came here
Fingers crossed for Ronald magic :P
This was a very minor change to their normal burgers for them to run a campaign with it.
It may also be the crappy pork patties that Ronald seems fond of. I get it, they are probably cheaper, but they are just so bad... :(
Oh yeah forgot about the pork patties. Burgers are probably better here. :P Feel your pain, lol
Good summertime eating
They really need to something with a bbq angle...
Thats a skinny sausage. More like a cold cut, Nice stuff Paul keep it up fella. You seem like a fella who u could enjoy a beverage and a good chat with.

Burgers in bagels... Sounds good, kinda like a breakfast thing. So the cheese slices are round? makes sense
Yeah they are round with the hole in the middle too like a bagel. They have different varieties as well, such as, cheese with chilli, cheese with black pepper, cheese with chive and onion. they all go well with a burger or chicken burger. ;)
I like the teriyaki mcburger. I have to have one each time i visit Japan.
It has been a solid item on the menu for sure, so there is definitely an audience for it... For me, the only pork patty burger I've liked from Ronald was ginger pork one...
i'll have that burger if you're not going to eat it. :P
It's all yours... ;)
Tried them all over the last few weeks and didn't like them much..well EXCEPT the double cheeseburger lol nice video Paul👍
Yeah, they have done better in the past. Hope yours was a little fresher than mine at least...
Eating a burger while talking to yourself in the car, alone, at the car parking... whats so crazy about that? haha ;)
Exactly. Everybody does that... ;)
teriyaki can be a bit much i'd rather have it in a small amount that looked like a lot & is that pepper like hot peppers or like black pepper season?
Like black pepper... Supposedly it was garlic and pepper sausage ;)
That peppered pork “sausage” reminded me of cotto salami here in the states
Yeah, it was a thinly sliced disc for sure... but just enough to lend its delicious flavour to the burger
and a stale bun ta-boot! hehe..sorry I missed a few of your videos had grandbaby here for a month..made it through alive though! lol
Haha, no prob, I bet you didn't mind the kid around at all ;)
I'm eating 2 for $5 Big Macs as I watch lol. Carl's Jr's teriyaki burger has a big slice of pineapple- teri-yucky!
Oh wow! Last time we had a Big Mac sale here I ordered 21 and had an eating contest with 2 of my friends... I then boycotted McDonald's for about 4 years... ;)
thats quite the drink aisle!
Yeah, I guess so. I know we have a good ramen aisle too, but our breakfast cereal aisle pales in comparison to those in the US ;) I think I walked away with a Pepsi...
Wish they had those peppered sausage & teriyaki burger here.
Ebi ebi 🍤, too bad maybe next promo. Wondering what the lady was thinking lol.
She was just parked there waiting for the light and happened to notice me there. I've eaten at this place before but never parked right up near the road like that. Hope she was entertained ;)
Hey! Look at that guy talking to his burgers! Lol..
Doesn't everyone do that? At least she didn't hear them talk back... ;)
Yep you are Canadian! You said processed the proper way!
I could have ordered the ebi one straight, but they didn't have the sauce for it, and since I've tried it before I didn't bother this time. At least it's good to know it was popular I guess
True
That's some PRIMO processed cheese action
Only the best ;)
I'm surprised the Teriyaki burger wasn't very good. It might be the sauce they use. If recommend getting your own sauce and applying it separately.
People do like it, but I think for me it's mainly my problem with McDonald's pork patties... the only one that was decent was the ginger pork burger... ;)
Critical Eats Japan maybe they should try a Teriyaki McChicken.
I don't think I'd enjoy either of these, but I'd be all over the shrimp one! The life of a reviewer in public lol.
Yeah, as you know, it's always best to avoid parking around other people, but sometimes it can't be helped or a situation like this occurs. I'm starting to hate the in-car review more for the summer heat than anything else these days though... ;)
Critical Eats Japan Do y'all get around 100F? Because that suuuucks. Our hottest month is August and not looking forward to my Fast Fridays lol.
I love jack links teriyaki beef jerky.
If I ever get a chance, I'll give them a try ;)
no infamous wrapper? I know it's just for Japanese fast food burger joints. I love answering my own question 😁
You talking burger diaper, right? Well, they did have a partial diaper, but I took them out to get the closeup shot and just didn't bother putting them back ;)
Critical Eats Japan diaper 😆👶
That drink isle is loke the beer isle here hahah
Those were just soft drinks, teas, and water etc. I think I grabbed a Pepsi J-Cola ;)
Thanks for a great review! I'd never imagine putting a slice of sausage in a burger, haha.
Does McDonald's in Japan have sweet potato fries? We got them here recently and they're pretty good.
No sweet potato fries... They had a pie once and sweet potatoes are popular here. How do you eat them? With ketchup or something else?
Oh, sweet potato pie sounds so good! We only have apple pie here atm.
I don't add anything to the fries, I just eat them as they are.
at least the meat is inside the bun/bread ahahahaha
Is this a reference to the nikunikuniku burger that Mos occasionally has where the buns are replaced with more meat patties? Or maybe just because it is called the Ura Menu... ;)
They looked pretty good for McDonald's burgers too bad you didn't like the teriyaki burger
I've had variations on the Teriyaki McBurger in the past ---their teriyaki chicken stuff has been great, but I really hate Ronald's pork patties...
Looks so tasty run into super market like froger lol
Frogger? Hope I don't get run over...
Yes frogger hahaha i was typing fast haha
I like the double hamburger
It was good... though it would have been great if it had a fresher bun... ;)
Big enough McDonald`s
More like an Express I guess, though they do seem to have most of the regular items
Hmm I do like the teriyaki burger :) Too bad you didnt enjoy it :(
I know a lot of people do love it. I just don't like the pork patty that they make it with... However, when they make teriyaki burgers with chicken they are usually really good...
Take away the cheese from the teriyaki burger and I'll eat it. good video
Yeah? It's all yours ;) I'm not a fan, but I do know it is popular...
I miss eating at McDonalds overseas, the ones here in the states are so lame.
Don't they have those fancy customizable computer things these days? Or are those only at a few select locations?
Critical Eats Japan only at certain ones.
Neither looks particularly good, think I would pass on both. Reasonable prices though.
Haha ---yeah, there are many better options out there for sure ;)
You are the only person I have heard of that does not like teriyaki sauce on pork or beef either one. There are teriyaki places all over around here and Teriyaki Pork then Beef are their best sellers

That's why you ask them to make your Burger Fresh. you should know this you're a food reviewer
Everybody knows fresh is better! And of course they do always make it to order... But I'm guessing this place has less traffic so maybe it was just a day old bun...
