Diana didn’t learn to speak or find her voice the way children normally do. She actually started singing as a form of speech therapy. She had a traumatic past and was abandoned at an orphanage. She had no voice at all. She started having singing lessons to help her speak and not stay mute for the rest of her life. Maybe that has something to do with the unusual quality of her voice.

@@cooltechnician Well, there are vocal coaches and then there are vocal coaches. I remember one who insisted that Diana's voice was processed and there was a back-up singer here. He also went on about how he would make "Rechenka" more challenging, how parts of Diana's voice were disconnected, and how she needed to "redeem herself" in the next song he would watch. Anyway, I'm glad I stumbled upon The Fairy Voice Mother - definitely someone to learn from.
Thanks for your time and comments for Diana. Yes she won this show, You Are Super, not once but twice. This performance was the semifinal for the second season she participated in. This season was comprised of winners and finalists from the 3 previous seasons. She won the year before at 14 years old. Now 17yrs old attending Gitis University in Moscow for TheraterArts/Music Voice and still performs concerts. Diana is now recording her first full album/cd to be released this spring. I saw a post that she recorded 2 songs today. She sings in her native Russian, also English, French, Spanish, German and Arabic. Wants to pursue folk rock genre but sings almost any genre as well. Natural story teller with the ability to convey the lyrics and emotions toward an audience. A true artist. Thanks again, great personality and will watch your channel.
Diana has so many paths she can take. I'm looking forward to which ones (plural) she chooses.
I just hope she will end up doing her own thing, she is special enough - she doesn't need to fall into a specific genre to achieve success, she just needs to stay true to herself.

adopted, and her stepmother noticed she had a speech problem took her to doctor who said Music would help
her with that, and after many lessons you have this wonderful talented Diana of and side note She Won and

around G3 to D5 or E5,.....and Last I knew she has extended that a bit Igor Took over being her

Derniere Danse, Rechenka, It's a man's world, Blizzard, Wave, Human, With your voice, Jodel time, Cranes, Feelin Good, Me Voy, finicky Horses, Puttin on the Ritz, Helwa ya Baladi, Havana, Take on me and (Oh Darling at ten yrs old.)and there are more. Sings in Russian, French, English, Spanish and Arabic. Genres go from Pop right through to poetic interpretation. Anything really.
Take your pick they are all amazing, but Rechenka is something else again, sublime performance I doubt few other singer performers could replicate live without electronic aid.(most reactors to Rechenka literally have their Jaw drop and are on video open mouthed through the whole thing.)

After about six months of blocking most of the TH-cam reaction/analysis videos of Diana on the "You Are Super" show, NTV seems to have begun letting most of them through earlier this month. NTV can still be quite unpredictable, though.
In at least one case, Diana has made her own music videos of one of these songs from the show and put it on her own TH-cam channel. For example, her music video of Blizzard/Snowstorm, is at:

That is a Russian song which (in the above video) is closed-captioned in (human-translated) English. It is probably safe to play all the way through without stopping.
For your analysis (and knowing what the song is about), you could then use the NTV version, which shows many more closeups of Diana, but you you need to pause frequently (which you would want to do anyway). The original cover version by Diana on NTV (only in Russian) is at:

Diana took part in this competition ("You are super") in the second season in 2018 at the age of 14, and then in the super season in 2019 and, of course, became the winner both times. The pinnacle of her performances in the second season is undoubtedly "Rechenka/River" - according to many - the best performance at vocal competitions in Russia. In the 2019 super season, she came across as a guest superstar rather than a contestant. All 7 of her performances on "You're Super" deserve watching and reaction. Believe me, there is something to be amazed and there is something to explore
I completely love your analysis. She is a special vocalist. Listen to Angelina Jordan who stripped it down and simplified it. Which in many ways can be more difficult then letting loose and going for it. She just has a knack of connecting with a songs essence. Sune's production of her version is outstanding. I mention AJ not to compare the two. Good luck with that, but to contrast the two. Two polar opposites of the same song. This young lady's makes me think, wow! what an amazing vocal. Angelina's makes me feel what the song is all about. Genius in it's simplicity. Both spectacular. Two different songs with the same lyrics.

I wouldn't call Rechenka the A side to 'Wicked Games' B side, but I think Rechenka is the most impressive of her performances. She walks like a shaman calling forth the spirits of nature.

Diana's voice and singing scratches that lizard brain because it is so primal and just has the ability to make you shiver and just feel things deep. The only other one that can do that is Angelina Jordan. Angie gets you deep in the heart of your soul, in your feels. Diana gets you into the core of your primal being with the way she becomes the music and the way she can manipulate her voice. Its just hard to explain.

I have also likened Diana’s vocals to Cher - just more intense. I have to be in a specific mood to listen to Diana, but she continues to grow on me. Rechenka by Diana is a mystical vocal and body performance. She does some different techniques such as yodels, flips (not body flips, silly me) and a long slide you will appreciate.
Rechenka is a must watch! Also "Havana" is one she did during covid, another great song and just looks like she is having so much fun in the video.
First I found Diana in 2018 and I loved her.
Then come year 2019 and I found Dimash and I love him too.
They are both a great performers.

I believe she is a natural mezzo or contralto, {maybe maturing into a dramatic contralto}, and doesn't have to strain to reach her whole range. With training, if she chooses to go in that direction, I think she would be a world class opera singer.

In fact, Diana participated in two seasons - 2-nd season and super-season (finalists of the previous two seasons) of this show - in 2018 and 2019 respectively. She won the first season, and had Grand Prix of the super-season. Diana is a special phenomenon, a vocal Universe, she has now transformed into a one of a kind. dramatic, chocolate contralto, with numerous fans all over the world. Her vocal range starts from C3 (no fry) to D6 or even higher, with full access to all registers within it. Try Rechenka next (she performed it in the age of 14), and you will be even more amazed. Fairy Voice Mother; You pretty much summed it up Diana's voice being between her and God as the 8th wonder of the world. I could not prevent a tear from flowing from my left eye. So glad "this generation" has a chance to hear "Wicked Games" by Rick Isaak. It is a classic and if you've never heard of the late Roy Orbison (or even Elvis!), you will hear the sound of a timeless era that was as naturally beautiful as its stories were pure of love. Kudos to guitarist Jame Calvin Wilsey as well for his hauntingly beautiful intro. ...And the set designer captured the essence and depth of the song along with the "wicked" vocals flowing out of Diana's mouth!

She does interesting runs in her singles "Голосом твоим" (With Your Voice) and "В небо" (Into the Sky), which she performed on this show "Ты супер!". It's very personal to her and probably my favorite performance.
