I appreciate the video, well done. I used the Goosky s2 manual initially, it was easier for me to follow being new to Radiomaster and slow to process. This video helped confirm my settings and I am grateful to have found it.
Thanks for your straightforward approach. A few minor notes: 1:23 - reverse channels A&R (you said A&E, slide is correct) 3:40 - Flight Modes (I recommend turning all trims off on FM0, since we shouldn’t be using them with the flybarless setup).
Same reason as when using any other flight controller. The FC will see 1500 as no input and if start messing with trims then you get into trouble. Happy flying
@@MrDLRu A helicopter must be mechanically setup to be neutral at hands off hover, flybarless or flybar. Like taking your hands of car steering wheel while driving, the car should steer straight. I never used trim.
Why reverse the A/R channels? I tried this in the simulator and it doesn't feel like a natural way to pitch at all. I can get over reversed Rudder by focusing on the tail instead of the nose, but Aileron as well? Please explain.
for those asking on binding, press bind on radio and press the bind button on the s1 located on the right hand side three times. i was also stuck as this step was passed over.
Thumbs up. More people should care about small helicopters for their natural high endurance of flight time. I modified my 230s to become a FPV helicopter at 249 grams and HD onboard video recording that flips/dives/snaps with 35 minutes of flight time per charge. No quads under 250 grams can ever beat that, not even professionally designed DJI. They either have to change a battery and going over 250 grams, or they have to turn off HD video and turn off FPV and navigation and make the drone fly in a circle at constant speed to get that advertised 35 minutes per charge, and even then, they can't flip/dive/snap.
braaahhh i’ve been trying to find information on that!! i have bigger helicopters as well as yours, any advice? any place i can search and learn more? or just look up fpv drone stuff and strap to helicopter?!
@@Painless360 So on 2.10.5 with TX16s to get my S1 to take the throttle curves I had to factory reset via the Goosky App and re-input the mechanical settings I screenshotted for the servos. Thanks for the explanation on this video on the radio setup. The one part I was hoping to know is the binding process for the SFHSS. I never used a Futaba radio so I am not familiar with the process. Could you make a part 2 on the binding for the S1? Thanks
Another excellent video, Lee, resulting in me spending more money!🤨 I have been setting up my new heli and am curious as to how you chose your throttle curve settings. Did you convert the values given in the Goosky manual in some way, or are your numbers the result of flight testing? I don't see how you get from 0,55,55,55 in the manual to -100,20,20,20 for example
Just to add, do the frequency tune, if your flying with sfhss futaba protocol, with a TX16s. Mine was dropping out of the sky & very jittery on the sticks. I even had it replaced & it was doing the the same thing. Doing the frequency tune it now flies like dream.
I am looking for a way to add the stabilization to a switch and the amount of gain to use. I am tryng to set up a switch to be least aggressive to most aggresive. Thanks for any help.
Is your S1 biased towards positive pitch? I set up my TX16s with 2-point pitch curves from -100 to 100 and when I have the stick on my TX16S in the middle, the pitch on the heli is already positive. Overall I have more positive pitch than negative. Is it the same with yours? I saw only one other person mention this in a discord channel. The only way to have neutral pitch in the middle of the stick is to change the pitch settings in the Goosky App drastically. I need to set the middle pitch to the lowest optiont in the app. But this means that my highest possible pitch on the heli has to be lower than it is now. Thanks in advance!
From what I recall, I did look at the blades for zero pitch on the radio and it was neutral. Most setups allow you to tweak the pitch curve on the radio to tweak it to be how you want.. Best of luck!
I plan on using this for my goosky s1 and s2, just got it in fact and am waiting for the battery to charge. I am completely new to programming them and was just curious if these settings would work for the s2 also? I can't seem to find any videos on programming the s2.
Thank you so much! This was my first successful binding with my new radiomaster TX16S with EdgeTx. Everything seems to work correctly except for some reason the collective pitch will only go just a tiny bit negative in each mode, not nearly enough to flip the heli. So I’m stuck floating around in positive pitch for now unless I use the stock RTF Goosky T8 transmitter. Anyone have any guesses as to how I could follow this video and then have the collective pitch issue mentioned above? Really makes going upside down less fun when full negative stick gives no thrust lol. . Anyway thanks again for the helpful video and channel! And thank you to anyone who has answers for my issue setting up my TX16S radiomaster and my goosky s1 heli Happy new year, humanity! Let’s do better this year
Thanks for this, just bought an edge tx radio and S1 recently. I'm coming from years of Spektrum and this helped wrap my head around the Edge Tx somewhat. Question though, I'd like to have a "landing" pitch curve on a separate switch from the idle up 3 position switch I use for headspeeds. I'd like to set up the linear pitch curve -100 to 100 to my flight modes but have a switch that overrides the linear and goes to my landing pitch curve like you have your curve set in normal mode. How could I do that? Specifically, on the tx16s I want all 3 positions of SE to have the same pitch curve and have SG up to switch to my landing pitch curve. Thanks
You can assign any switches you want to the different curves. You can setup more than the few shown and use the same method to switch between them. Best of luck!
Most flybarless units have a SBUS input so you can use an ELRS receiver that can be configured for SBUS with it. Watch for CH5 output though with things like SBUS as (at the moment) that is fixed in the SBUS output as a binary channel (high or low only).

I manage to set it up on my TX18S EdgeTX. But I have some issue on setting up it's pitch with the Goosky App as the BT connection kept disconnected after seconds of connected. I hope you can make a complete video on the complete pitch setup on the App?
