I'm a bit older, so can't handle the super emotional dudes but Ryu is nice and chill.

That’s how I found Ryu, perhaps 2 years ago? I barely knew this game existed, and I’ve never watched any Nintendo content. Since then I’ve got a Wii U and Mario maker and Ryu is to thank.

I ised Google mostly for the input and for some words, but most of the translation is me unravelling the structure and inserting translations of single words found on the Wiktionary or on Google. The transliteration is mostly Google, except when kana are used, which are syllabaries which I know.

Next milestone (big) run should be that you have to hit the record on every level, no skip. If you don't get it on some levels, you have to do another run until you make 6 records with the number of lives remaining from previous run. You'll never know if you have the record until you complete it so you never get a second chance. You could cheese this a tad by getting all the way to the flag then dying to restart and do speed strats. You seem to get the record on half the lives anyway, this could be really cool.Besides all this, awesome job as always, really enjoy your work!!!

Once there were two brothers who loved videogames. To come home from school and get to fire up the nes was the best thing they knew.
The older brother was very patient and didn't seem bothered by the unfair boss fights and the odd bug in some of the games. The younger brother however would rage and scream, punch the floor and bite the controller like a beast because he could never beat a single level. He was known by the other kids in the neighborhood as the most sore loser around.
Their parents told him that they would simply have to take the games away if he didn't calm down.
One night when thunder roared the older brother was playing Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde which he had traded his favorite game Castlevania for. His friend had made it sound so cool and he was really excited. But it was terrible, in fact - it was the worst game ever. He chuckled lightly and figured "oh well, win some, lose some." But the storm outside seemed to grow angrier by the minute and after two hours of failing and failing in this stupid game where nothing made sense, all the while imagening his "friend" laughing at him for trading a gem for this abomination, a small twitch in the older brothers left eyelid appeared, the controller slipped out of his hands and into a glass of water.
The younger brother had woken up and from his bed had watched his brother play for the last 5 minutes and assumed that he had fallen asleep while playing. He jumped out of bed and went up to the glass of water with the controller, stuck his hand in and a loud crackling noise filled the room as he was electrocuted. A fire broke out and started the fire alarm. Their parents came running through the door to see the younger brother passed out on the floor and the flames from the nes reflected in the older brothers unblinking eyes.
One week later the parents sat at a hospital bed as the younger brother finally opened his eyes. They carefully praised him for waking up, expecting him to rage because of the pain. Then they told him that his brother had had a mental breakdown and was in an insane asylum for young teens. He had already been given the nickname: Angry video game nerd. Appearantly he would play the terrible games they had at the asylum and mumble obscenities all day.
Then they had to tell him that when he comes home he would find all his games destroyed by the fire, now for sure expecting him to throw a tantrum.
But he just smiled and said "I am Ryukahr. I am the dragon of serenity."
He became known as a sage, no level was unbeatable to him, and he never raged again.

I recently bought mario maker on the Wii U. What’s the best controller set up to use. I have a u-pro, a Wii classic, Wii classic pro and the snes classic controller.
I love the good stages that come up in Super Expert. It just goes to show that you don't have to forego good level design to make your level difficult, and in fact making a fun level that's hard is far more rewarding for the player than making a troll level, or a level with tons of kaizo stuff involved.
Too bad almost all of the troll levels are made with almost no thought toward proper level design and are in fact just made to piss people off. But whatever, I'll just stick to making and playing more traditional levels.

Hi, Ryu, at 6:30 could you actually just jump above and clear the level? It might lack momentum or there might be kaizo blocks but I think that's do-able?

I'm new to Mario Maker, are there any really good training stages for practicing the various shell techniques? I'm pretty good at expert and the game in general but if a stage has Kaizo techniques in it I'm basically doomed. I can do spring jumps and p-switch jumps but can't seem to get shell techniques down at all, not even once by accident.
