Your chunk trailer is a modern version of the ol' "pig n' jig". In the 70's guys used to fish a jig with a pork rind trailer. this was before the advent of plastic trailers and creature baits. Uncle josh was the brand of trailer that was advertised in the bass master magazine.

1:49 lmao! Greg, you would have a panic attack in saltwater lol. A buddy and I were fishing newport in our float tubes. We saw a huge sea lion. Might have been mating season. It kept following us and finally swam towards my buddy and bumped his tube pretty hard.

Hey Greg, I want to say thanks for showing me how powerful a drop shot is in shallow water. About 2 years ago, I decided to give it a try here in Louisiana because of you, and now I can definitely say that it's my confidence bait. I've seen it to where a fish won't even sniff a texas rig, but they'll crush a drop shot! It's amazing! Thanks again!

Greg my dad and I learned to fish the "jig and pig" in the early '80s Uncle Josh's Pork Rinds number 11 (the size you're fishing) and 101 sizes the 11 for largemouth and the 101's for spots that's all there were. You had to wrap your pork rinds in a wet paper towel or plastic bag to keep them from drying out running between spots. However, once we figured out how to fish it (pre youtube and f1 strains) I don't think we ever skunked again because no matter what you could find some riprap and get at least a bite.
Sadly Uncle Josh's went out of business I have a bottle of 11's and 101's for sentimental reasons but those organic pork meat products really produced and fish would not let them go most of the time.
Anyway nice to remember some of those precious times when as a kid life was simple, thank Mr. B

That’s why we love you Greg! Bite was tough and instead of packing up early the man said “we might be out here a while” I love when failure fuels people. That’s the attitude of a winner! What’s your spinning rod setup for your drop shot rig? When it gets windy like it looked like in the video I have a hard time feeling bites on a drop shot

Speaking of weighing fish, I'd like to see how much variance there can be in a given length.
For example I think a 100" limit of LMB could be anywhere from 20 to 30 lbs.
Personally I've caught 19" fish that were 6 lbs and 19" fish that were barely 3 lbs.
We'll probably never have these stats but I'd be curious to see any given tourney standing in inches as well as lbs.
Great vid as always Greg, thanks for taking us along
